I do llke shows like Burn Notice, The Office, 24. I don't care how attractive/unattractive an actor is as along as the stories are solid and entertaining. The more good TV I watch (sometimes just through DVD), the less I want to waste my time with shows like Flashpoint.

Still, I liked how it showed the process and the emotions that come into play. But it felt pretty heavy. Meh, it was a decent watch, but probably not something I'd tune into see on a regular basis.

say what ya want, but the second episode was pretty entertaining. Sure, it's nothing more than brain candy, but it's worthy of a season pass from me.

It's decent enough Friday nite fare. I liked the unpredictability of the 2nd episode. I just hope every episode isn't another "the job is eating him up inside", and we occasionally get served a bad guy who deserves to get got.

Tonight's episode felt a bit less introspective or character-driven than the last episode. It was entertaining, as jonnyquest said, decent enough Friday night fare. Still, don't know if I'll stick with it or not. And I can already tell this storyline with the new kid on the block is going to get predictable fast.

Didnt like the John Q rip off
They have such a kick ass team, they need to go after hardcore baddies. Not dads and tragic solo terrorists
I remember a show from a few years ago called Wanted about a group which went after the worst kind of criminals. That show rocked !

I liked episode 2. It's enough to keep me entertained for the rest of the summer. I did keep thinking about John Q the whole time.
I heard some good things about the other CTV produced series called "The Border." Has anyone here from Canada watched that? I wish one of the networks here picks it up.
It's funny that looking at IMDB.com, the entire team is comprised of Canadian actors except Amy Jo Johnson....I think she's the only American on the entire cast.

For anyone who is watching. Flashpoint is moving to Thursday at 10pm starting this week. Swingtown is moving to Friday at 10pm.

In what could be read as a positive sign for "Flashpoint" and an ill-omen for "Swingtown," CBS has swapped the time slots for the summer dramas.
CBS announced on Tuesday (July 22) that, effective immediately, "Flashpoint" will take the Thursday 10 p.m. ET hour after "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," while "Swingtown" will shuffle off to Friday nights at 10 p.m.

Friday and Saturday are considered bad timeslots because it is widely assumed that people go out those days. CBS does have some of the highest rated shows on Friday's like Ghost Whisperer and Numbers.

I'm digging this show. Sure the situations are contrived and there's about a .0001% chance that a tactical team would ever make these high risk entries, but what on tv is real nowadays? Glad that little bastard from Jericho died. He was a crappy store owner.

Looks like CTV---the co-producer of Flashpoint, is ordering a 2nd season. However, CBS has not committed to airing it yet.
I've actually really enjoyed the show thus far. It's not great by any means, but it's decent summer entertainment. Hopefully CBS will decide to air season 2 next summer.

TORONTO, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - CTV has ordered a second season of its hit original series Flashpoint from Toronto-based Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment. The announcement was made today by Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc., just days after production wrapped in Toronto on this summer's most-watched scripted series. A hit since it premiered last month, Flashpoint continues to deliver Olympian audiences, besting CBC's coverage of the Beijing Games in both weeks of Olympic broadcasts in Toronto. A total of 13 new episodes are expected to head into production in early 2009 (all production details TBA).
"Flashpoint has hit its mark with North American audiences and remained competitive - even during the Olympics," said Boyce. "Viewers have embraced Flashpoint and we are answering their call for more. The cast and creative team have delivered a series that not only entertains with high-intensity drama but with heart as well."
"We're excited that Canadian audiences have responded with such enthusiasm to Flashpoint's stories of humanity and adrenaline," said Flashpoint Executive Producers Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos. "We're extremely proud to have this opportunity to bring more of our homegrown stories to viewers in Canada and around the world."
Flashpoint has maintained an average audience of 1.17 million viewers since it debuted No. 1 in both Canada and the U.S. last month on CTV and CBS.(1) The first series since CTV's Due South to air in network primetime in both Canada and the United States, Flashpoint has attracted an average weekly audience of seven million viewers in the U.S. since its premiere.(2)

I like the characters, i like the production, i like the construction of the story, I just don't like the bad guys !
I know the point of the show is it is everyday people pushed over the edge, but cmon, you have a hard ass tactical response team and all they end up doing is talking the aggressor down ! and if they did kill them, it wouldn't be justified because the aggressor has had such a tragic life.
It's like a tease. They need some genuine bad villians who they can blow to smithereens !

Looks like CBS finally caved. They officially ordered the 2nd season of Flashpoint. It's a decent summer action drama. I'll definitely be tuning in again next year.

CBS renews "Flashpoint" for third season
By Nellie Andreeva and Etan Vlessing – Tue Oct 6, 2:12 am ET
LOS ANGELES/TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) – CBS has renewed "Flashpoint" for a third cycle, ordering 13 episodes of the Canadian-produced cop drama to air later this season.
"Flashpoint" has already been picked up for a third season by Canada's CTV, which originally developed the series and has been airing it concurrently with CBS.
"Flashpoint," starring Enrico Colantoni ("Just Shoot Me") as the member of a strategic response unit, , has been the most successful among the slew of recent scripted imports on the U.S. broadcast networks, which have been looking for lower-cost drama programing. In its second season on CBS, "Flashpoint" averaged 9.6 million viewers.
