Question about the digital transition
Here is the scenario.
Person renting a room and currently receiving cable tv.
House is subscribed to digital cable, but only one person is capable of receiving digital cable programming in their room because they have some special box in their room hooked up to their HDTV. The others receive just basic cable programing.
Question is this. Once the digital transition occurs in Feb. 2009 will the other 2 rooms receive digital programing channels or will it still be just basic cable?
What would be required for those in the 2 rooms to receive the same digital cable channels as the one person does in their room?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in.

The digital transition has nothing to do with this.
For the other rooms to receive digital cable, they'll probably need a digital receiver from the cable company. Call your cable company and ask them what is needed.

Is the person that has the HDTV only getting digital programming? Or do they have an HD box? Just curious....

Digital transition doesn't effect cable or satellite subscribers. Those other 2 TV's will continue to receive the same programming as if nothing happened.

The same "special box" (likely a digital cable box) that the one room has, the other two rooms will need to get the cable "digital programming". You can get them from the cable company for a rental fee of $5-10 a month.
