Shear Genius Season Two

Begins June 25th @ 9/10c

Hosted by Golden Globe-nominated actress, designer, and entrepreneur Jaclyn Smith, the second season of Bravo's creative competition series Shear Genius offers a behind-the-scenes look at the competitive and creative world of high-end hairstyling. Famed celebrity hairstylist Kim Vo and Allure beauty editor Kelly Atterton serve as lead judges on the series. Accomplished stylist Rene Fris serves as the competitors' mentor.

Bravo's nationwide search for talented hair stylists unearthed a group of gifted competitors from all over the country who will vie for the ultimate title of "Shear Genius," $100,000 in seed money from Nexxus and a chance to style hair for an Allure magazine feature.

I enjoyed last season, so count me in for season 2.

After the suckitude that was Top Design, I was surprised how enjoyable Shear Genius was. Hope they have a good cast this year.

Cool! Yeah, I was not impressed with Top Design. I hope they have someone mean like Tab from season one.

I think casting makes all the difference on these shows. Top Design sucked because the cast sucked (and also because it is kind of boring to watch people decorate a fake room.)

I can't remember anyone from the Shear Genius cast last summer, except they were entertaining. I hope they have a good crew this time also. Glad Jaclyn Smith is still on board. I liked the calmness she brought as a host.

The two challenges last night were goofy.

I think Kim Vo's plastic surgeon must have been wearing a blindfold. That guy's face is just hard to look at.

Oshun was so delusional, he almost seems like a plant. In a way, I am surprised he was sent home, if only because he was such a reality show trainwreck. I loved at the end who he said he was "holding back" his talents as some part of strategy. Yeahhhh, right.

No idea why the Marge Simpson blue beehive made it to the top 3. That looked awful and it did not follow the point of the challenge.

I loved the first Betty Boop - that should have made top 3. I really liked the Wilma that one though.

Kim seems to have a permanent smile on his face. I agree that Oshun is delusional and LOL'd when he claimed to be "holding back". The Marge Simpson did not belong in the top three.

It will be cool to see Kate Jackson when she's on.

I remember him a few years back, he used to do the hair on Extreme Makeover (the plastic surgery show, not the home one.) He used to be a nice looking guy, so I was horrified by his appearance now. Anyone know how old he is? I just don't understand why anyone would do that to their face.

His face now reminds me of Katherine Harris.

Yeah, he does look like that.

*******
I knew dude was a goner with the dark hair coloring and the cut he gave. He made that Orange County housewife look 20 years older. Tab was blunt 'n bitchy.

Loved seeing Tabitha again. I forgot about her. She was awesome as a judge.

Oh and about Kim Vo - I read on another forum that he is actually Vietnamese and why he looks so weird is he is trying to look Caucasian. Could that be true?

Yeah, Tab kicked ass as a judge!

Re: Kim. I hope not. He should be proud of his heritage. He was a good looking guy before the plastic surgery.

Very cool! I like Tab!

Glad Mr. Bleach got sent home. I was tired of him mentioning his wife in every sentence he spoke. He was like Jen on Top Chef when Zoe got the boot. Annoying.

Count me in as another viewer. I finally got around to watching this last night, so I need to catch a mini-marathon for the previous episodes. I wonder what Matt's "perfect 10" wife looks like. The last time I saw lips like Kim Vo's, there was a hook in it. I definitely agree that Paulo's cut was more suited for a runway than a red carpet. The guy who won(forgive me, it'll take some time to remember their names) looks like a cockfight took place on his lapel. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Hey SBJ---glad you are enjoying. I had to at their "celebrity" judge. They should have at least tried to get Susan Lucci.

I actually like her on The Biggest Loser. Kind funny to see her on another reality show.

I loved when she said that!

Looks like pure drama for next week's episode. In preview even Dee is screaming. She's usually pretty calm.

I am watching but I have to fast forward through most of it. I can't take the one host due to the way he talks. He seems to forget his R's in evey wod.

Oh, you're talking about Rene Fris. He's originally from Denmark and while I think he's almost the most gorgeous man alive, his accent and stupid catchphrase, "Go shake (Sheag) it" makes me want to stab my eardrums with scissors. He isn't a judge he's the consultant, like Tim Gunn from PR.

Kim Vo's face is a travesty. My daughter actually had a nightmare about him a few days ago..his smile is scary. He was quite attractive before. I guess he went to Michael Jackson's surgeon.

I was also shocked at how much I enjoyed season 1 and I loved Tabitha. I even friended her on My Space (lame I know), where she sent back really nice message. She's cool.

...and Oshun wasn't a plant, he's a delusional hair dresser and there are plenty of those here in Detroit.
