Sarah Silverman and Norm MacDonald do "Match Game"

Match Game

The famous gameshow of the 70's and 80's is back!!

Featuring Sarah Silverman, Norm Macdonald and more celebrity guests! For anyone who isn't familiar, Match Game pits two contestants against one another as they attempt to match fill-in-the-blank questions with their celebrity counterparts. Unlike most game shows however, comedy is the real prize here, as comedians are given the opportunity to have fun and help the show even if things sometimes get a little out of hand...

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION:
Parking & entrance to studio is 1 block south of Beverly on Fairfax. Parking on the CBS lot is subject to availability. If the lot is full we suggest parking at The Grove or Farmers Market adjacent to the studio.

CBS Television City Stage 58
7800 Beverly Blvd.

I've heard the host for this new version of "Match Game" will be Andy Daly, from "Mad TV" and the movie "Semi-Pro".

Groucho 06-18-08 08:29 AM

Thanks for posting that IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION. That really made my day!

Tracer Bullet 06-18-08 08:29 AM

Sarah Silverman could be good. Not sure about Norm McDonald... I hope the other celebrities are light on the snark. Two is enough for this show.

Charlie Goose 06-18-08 08:35 AM

Yes, way too much snark. It gets very annoying after a while.
I can't imagine they will be able to recreate the atmosphere of the old show.

I think he's very funny. He got a raw deal on SNL.

I think he's funny as well. I just don't know if he'll work on Match Game.

starman9000 06-18-08 09:12 AM

Norm will be fantastic. Silverman can be good in small doses.

That depends on the amount of blow, booze, and effeminate male celebrities available.

Groucho 06-18-08 10:30 AM

How early should I get there if I want to ensure that I don't have to part at the overflow lots?

If you get there before the Egyptians you should be okay.

Andy Dick?

majorjoe23 06-18-08 01:51 PM

Sarah Silverman and Norm MacDonald? I wonder if there will be any anal sex jokes.

Double_Oh_7 06-18-08 04:11 PM

Oh great, another lame "re-imagining" of a classic game show. I'll pass.

Groucho 06-18-08 04:12 PM

If I get there and I can't park at the studio, is it safer to leave my car at the Grove or at the Farmer's Market? Any thoughts?

I like Norm so I am definitely interested in watching this. Hopefully it will be good.

No shortage in Hollywood http://img330.imageshack.us/img330/7938/nicole8jd.png

calhoun07 06-18-08 06:58 PM

Screw ticket information. How do I get to be a contestant?? These game show remakes are only fun if I can win cold hard cash playing them.

Brain Stew 06-18-08 07:26 PM

In keeping with the spirit of a the 70s version, you will have the option of winning $500!!

Jadzia 06-18-08 09:05 PM

When does it air?

Steve Phillips 06-19-08 11:23 AM

Note to producers:

Sets that look like spaceships, overly dramatic music and "million dollar challanges" are bad.

Sets with huge orange shag carpeting, and wonka-wonka music are good.

wendersfan 06-19-08 02:48 PM

This is a great idea. Putting two of the most annoying people on the planet in such close proximity to one another will make it easier to kill them both with a minimum of effort (and ammo) expended.

Or a HEFTY $5000.00 if you get the star on the wheel!

In Match Game PM, you could win $10,000 with a lucky spin of the Star Wheel!

Which, for 1979, was pretty sweet. Some game shows today still give less than that as the top prize.

bigjim25 06-20-08 08:58 AM

Is that the only options for parking?

It's Silverman and MacDonald... not Joan Rivers, Dat Phan, and Rosie O'Donald..

tommyp007 06-20-08 09:39 AM

Original music or no sale.

Zen Peckinpah 06-20-08 03:29 PM

Apparently, this was the lineup in the pilot:

Norm MacDonald (Richard Dawson?)
Sarah Silverman  (Brett Somers?)
Super Dave Osborne
Rashida Jones  (Fannie Flagg/Betty White?)
Scott Thompson (CNR?)
and someone else.

This show could be blanking awesome.

sauce07 06-20-08 03:31 PM

Good lineup, looks like a fun cheese.

Hmmm.... depending on who the sixth celebrity is, this might actually not suck.

It doesn't. It hasn't been picked up as a series yet, this was just a pilot. If it gets picked up, I wouldn't expect it until late in the year at the earliest and probably not until '09.

BTW, the sixth celebrity was Niecy Nash (or something like that). I'm sure I'm not the only one who's never heard of her(?).

Four comedians is pushing it. They should really have three at most.

She's from Reno 911.

Google brought up this image of her:

I didn't know they even bothered to do pilots for game shows. I thought they just ordered limited runs to air at first and see if they hit.

I like how you had to show us that picture of her instead of the picture TV viewers would likely know...which was on the same Google page...
