Sorry about that, guys. I didn't realize that I had never posted the link to the article.

Here you go: Top 20 Kid Shows from the 80’s & 90’s

This was a tough list to compile, and will certainly not satisfy everyone, but hopefully it's an enjoyable read.
Thanks for posting, PacMan2006. Within the parameters you set, I think you came up with a good list and provided nice background info for each show.

Nice list

A lot of my favorites are on there but I am surprised that All That made it to #1. I liked the show but I thought there were a few better shows around that time. Thats IMO of course as I probably would have put Salute Your Shorts and Pete & Pete up higher and Are You Afraid of the Dark? would have been #1.

Re: Your Top Ten Childhood Shows?

Well-written article and a fairly good order. I'd say that while All That wasn't my favorite show I think it was pretty accessible to most kids without being too terrible and I appreciated the variety-show-for-kids format. Since you asked about Nickelodeon shows and a vast majority of the shows on the list are from Nickelodeon, those that are different (TMNT, MMPR, Fraggle Rock) feel a little out of place. Still, nicely done.

If you had to pick a top 3 or top 5 live action shows that aired on Nickelodeon from the late 80's to 90's, what would they be?
1) Adventures of Pete and Pete
2) You Can't Do that on Television
3) Don't Just Sit there
4) Turkey TV
5) Ren and Stimpy

I'm working on an article for an online publication that counts down the top 20 childhood shows.

These will mostly be from the late 80's to the mid 90's, so it would help if you were born in the late 70's or early to mid 80's.

But I'd love to know what people's top ten (or even 20) childhood shows were so I can get a gauge of what people liked, and what shows seem to repeat on everyone's lists.

Thanks.

**NOTE***: I'm looking for more shows that were geared towards children specifically. Meaning, I'm not so much looking for "The Cosby Show" as I am, say, a Nickelodeon show such as "Are You Afraid of the Dark" or "Smurfs."
robotech
Double Dare

Star Blazers
Gummi Bears
Darkwing Duck

Thanks for the link, you did a commendable job. It's a tad heavy on the Nickelodeon shows though.

Yeah, I liked the list, but it probably should have just been a Nick only list. Since it was nearly that anyway.

I liked All That at the time well enough, but it wasn't even in my top ten of Nick shows running at the time. I recently watched Salute Your Shorts in the last year or so, and that show still holds up. I was surprised at how funny it was. Pete and Pete so strange, but definitely top notch.

My top 5 Nick shows from when I was in the target demo would be:

Salute Your Shorts
Doug
Are you Afraid of the Dark
Rocko's Modern Life
Pete and Pete

They weren't great shows, but I did enjoy most of the Nick gameshows too.
