I loved Jim trying to leave Pam at the party. Fucking great.
I agree awkward situations are the root of the show but this was a Party I did not want to be at and I didnt even think it was awkwardly funny.
With the exchanges between Jan and Michael, I would have quickly exited like Jim wanted to.

I wasn't a fan of the majority of the hour long episodes, but this one was pretty close to gold in my book. I think Dwight totally picked up a homeless woman and cleaned her up, thus delaying his arrival. I think Michael really did run through the door but that the police probably had been there before. I think the song was about Jan. I think Jan was somebody who was barely holding it together before she left Gould but who has been on a serious downward spiral since then.

I do hope the next episode is in the office and gives us a ton of Creed and Kevin.

I'm talking about the season opening hour long episodes that so many didn't care for versus this episode, which was of normal length.

Missed this episode because of work. Watched in online and loved it. Like everyone else, would have liked to have taken place in the office, but still, that 'old school' Office humor was there. A lot of akwardness, great expressions, and good chemistry with the actors playing off one another.

holy crap! I died laughing at that (and the plasma TV reveal). I knew this guy in college that would sing along to ANYTHING that came over the radio/someone played on a CD even if he didn't know the words! he'd style or try to catch the words as they were being sung... god that dude was annoying.

I havent wanted to watch the episode after the dinner party because it was so off-putting.
