Sadly this is my most anticipated show this fall.

DJariya 07-26-08 02:10 PM

September 2 is a very early start time. If it gets a full season, they are going to have lots of 2-3 week breaks to make it all the way to May.

Some of my co-workers and friends thinks this looks lame, but I have to say I agree with Gizmo, this is one of the most anticipated shows this fall for me next to Fringe.

Gizmo 07-26-08 03:24 PM

I'm not sure how many episodes the CW greenlit, but if the ratings are good, I can see them extending it to 25 or so (I think they are doing this with Gossip Girl as well). This may be the show that saves the CW....

I'm not sure if the CW has the budget to extend the seasons to 25 but that would be awesome.

Its kinda sad that the fate of this show will seriously make or break the CW. Revenue has been considerably lower than the executives thought it would be when the network came into being two years ago. But if the show is a success and it gives the CW the promo/exposure it needs that would be really ironic. Well maybe not ironic, but I do appreciate the fact that the original 90210 (along with the Simpsons) was the show that saved FOX way back in 1990, and that other teen soaps "Dawson's Creek" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" propelled the WB back in 1998. It says something that teen dramas are the shows that save networks.

The CW greenlighted 13 episodes like they do with every new series. I think if it does well within the first month, they will definitely give it a full season. However, I doubt they will order more than the back 9.

I'm just saying that 22 episodes if going to be very hard to stretch until the 1st or 2nd week of May with a September 2 start date, which is very early for a scripted series.

Unless 90210 bombs (and it won't given the huge marketing that CW will be doing for it), it will get the back 9 after the first 2-3 episodes air. Mark my word! With all the past 90210 stars stopping by...its going to be a hit (even if a hit means 3 million viewers...).

I honestly don't think it will be that fast. The series has a chance of getting 23/24 episodes, but its going to be latter in the season. The thing people keep forgetting is that the CW doesn't have the money to throw around the WB had back when they merged with UPN nor the money they had their first season. CW is borderline broke. The only reason Reaper got picked up was because they couldn't afford another pilot. "Smallville," "Supernatural," and "One Tree Hill" all had to take 25 to 35% budget cuts to return another year.

Original Desmond 07-26-08 11:30 PM

luckily all of the original 90210 cast need work so it should be cameo city
Id personally like to see Paul Johnasson return with his John Sears character

If that was true (regarding Reaper), than why did the CW pick up several shows for Midseason? The just announced one with Autumn Reeser (mmmmmm). 90210 is the CWs last chance of surviving...and if it fails, I can't see the network even being around next season.

90210 -- Sept. 2nd!

Anyone else really excited about 90210 premiering on 9/2? I think it's really going to be a great show since they were able to get Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling, PLUS an entire new cast (Rob Estes ;)). I can't wait to see the drama unfold. With the insane success of Gossip Girl last season, I know 90210 will sweep in with full force! (Had to add some pictures!)

I'm surprised there's not already a thread on this.

Not only token but second billing.

No.

Timber 08-06-08 03:06 PM

Poor Micheal. From The Wire to 90210. Filming locations have to be better then Baltimore City though.

Bluelitespecial 08-06-08 04:56 PM

As if there isn't enough threads on this already, but I am very excited to see Shenae Grimes from Degrassi the Next Generation is a part of the show.

bigjim25 08-06-08 06:54 PM

Did Donna Martin graduate?

raKim 08-06-08 08:20 PM

is it on at 10pm? Cause that would work...

Nope. That's local CW news time.

I believe 90210 is on at 8pm and One Tree Hill is at 9pm.

There premiere is 2 hours though.

raKim 08-06-08 10:09 PM

oh well, thought they would try for the 9/02 10pm
we can dream...

JZ1276 08-06-08 11:45 PM

I am probably the biggest 90210 fan there is (and I'm a straight guy) but this show will probably suck. I'm curious as to how they will have Donna on the show w/out David being that they got married and Kelly w/out Dylan being that the got back together.

I believe that Kelly will once again be single.

big whoppa 08-07-08 01:32 AM

Aren't the kids from the original 90210 middle-aged now? :)

Gunde 08-07-08 01:33 AM

The cast pic just scream 'BAD SHOW' - so did the original :)

Seriously though there's no way this new show will have any of the charm the original had.

ian ziering and luke perry are in their mid 40's
jason priestley is 39
all the girls and brian green are in their early/mid 30's
oldest one i think is gabrielle carteris who is in her late 40's

Carteris turned 47 this year. I believe she was the oldest at age 29 when the show started.

I believe B.A.G and Tori Spelling are the youngest at age 35.

Of Course the photo is going to look cheesy. It was taken before they even filmed one scene. It's going to take some time for this show to gain a following/audience. They do have some credible actors as the parents (Lori Loughlin and Rob Estes.) I think the show will have some growing pains, but I think it will do well. I'm guessing 3-5M viewers a week (which is good for CW standards)

Rob V 08-07-08 11:02 AM

In the pic above, Priestly's legs look like they're going to snap with the weight of Carteris on him.

They may actually need a token straight in this show.

Original Desmond 08-07-08 06:06 PM

Ill be watching

I'd actually like to see TAT (Valerie) return

What about the peach pit and Nat ? Is the actor who played nat still alive ?

Joe E. Tata is returning for 1 episode.

Tiffani Thiessen said no to returning as well as Luke Perry. B.A.G. is out of the mix as well since he's on Terminator as a regular.

Yes, Joe E. Tate is in his early 70s, I have read he is in the pilot, and may become a cast regular.

Superman07 08-07-08 07:23 PM

Is there a trailer for this yet? I had seen a very short promo, but it was just some of the cast standing in doorways and rolling on a bed. Nothing that actually showed actual scenes. Although I'm probably more inclined to watch the first season of Gossip Girl before I check this out.

B.A. 08-07-08 07:44 PM

I'll be tuning in because of Jessica Stroup.

I read somewhere that they have renamed his Peach Pit, Peach Pit after Dark aka....The Pit.

Original Desmond 08-08-08 11:11 AM

Ian Ziering ? he's done nothing
