But of course, plothole as it may be, it made me think a little... and as usual Lost is one of the few shows to make me do that.

WOW!
I missed the first 10 minutes.... but I was able to catch on and get what was happening. That was intense.
... and we get Ben Fischer making a cameo. Bonus.

Faraday didn't know about Desmond, but he used him to get his memories back.
Just an unbelievable writing job by the writers. We got new things to talk about(Widmore buying the Black Rock journal, and it's the same day on the island as the real world?), explanation to Faraday and his whackiness, and an unbelievably emotional scene between Desmond and Penny.
I can't stop gushing over this episode.

2.5 hours till it airs in Hawaii! I love spoilers and these spoilers have me really pumped up!!!!
IMO, "Walkabout" from Season 1 has been the best episode so far in the series. Does this episode trump that?

During the auction scene, did anyone else notice Ben in the background? Someone please re-watch it (if you haven't deleted it from your DVR), when the pan across the audience of the auction I swear Ben is on the left side in the very back.

No, wait, he probably just asked in the science department and was told, "He's a long-haired bearded freak. He should be over by the high-energy physics lab about now."

The island however... that's a different story.
There's something still unanswered (duh) that is between the island and the boat.
The "Looking Glass" might be outside of this "something" which is why Charlie could talk to Penny.
Unless I'm totally of base.

I don't think my mind will ever be able to grasp the understanding of this episode. This time travel stuff (while certainly not the direction I was hoping the show would go) has me very curious to see how it will all play out.
One things for sure people who were complaining (myself sometimes included in these folks) that nothing happens in some the the 2nd and 3rd season can certainly shut there mouths now.
Even if it makes no sense some major shit is goin down in every episode so far this season that certainly advances the show at a rapid pace.

Unless there's some crazy time stuff going on with the days on the island. Just like Sayid said they left the island at dusk, and it should have took 20 minutes to get to the boat. They get to the boat, and it's mid-day. Completely confused on all this.

Excellent episode... so someone refresh my memory. Do Penny and Desmond see each other more before he eventually takes off on his race around the world? Or was that the last time in 1996? I can't remember when he exactly takes off on his race.
