They also made it a point of having Jack state at the trial that they crashed in 2004, and we know from the last few episodes that they have been on the island around 90 days. Kate's mother stated that after she thought Kate was dead, she was sick for four years. Current day time of episode flash forward = 2008?

I think the 8 survived but there only being an Oceanic 6 means 8 people leave the island, but something happens on the way back and 2 die. Of course they "brought back the bodies we found" to cover it up.

My question is, the crash was a full plane, how did only 8 people survive that? Can noone else swim?

And Sawyer being buddy buddy with Hurley, now rooming with him, since he found out he was Hugo and was rich is awesome.

I liked this episode, but I am getting a bit tired of this "soap opera" format they are using for this season - it's just moving so slowly, with too much dialog.

I'm sure they're just settling into their new format, hoping for some more on island mystery/action.

As predicted, it's not that easy to find the freighter either.

So I'm guessing they don't get rescued from the island for quite some time? Because if they've been on the island ~100 days so far, and Kate leaves the island with Aaron, the outside world had to know she wasn't too far along in her "pregnancy" before the crash...?

It was pretty clear early in the episode how it might turn out.

So is Aaron one of the 6 or 8? Not sure why he wouldn't be. And how old was he at the end? 2-ish?

No it won't. It has been mentioned repeatedly this season about the "Oceanic 6" almost definitely meaning 6 people left the island. The fate of the others is still TBD, as far as the outside world though - only 6 lived.

More Speculation ....

He said 8 originally survived the plane crash. He was lying. That's why Kate said at the end "Ive heard you tell that story so many times I think you're starting to believe it."

In the past episodes, Kate, Jack, and Hurley are protective of letting anyone know there are still survivors at the island. And then there is Sayid working for Ben as a killer to keep the survivors safe.
