It's not rocket science. He wasn't on the plane. He was born on the Island.
Oceanic 6 - Hence they were on Oceanic flight 815.
Josh is correct on the remaining two.

Why would Michael have a settlement? He's not one of the Oceanic 6.

Not sure if Josh has some inside track on the two he posted, but the more I think about it the more I doubt Ben is masquerading as a survivor. There's certainly groundwork being laid for
Spoiler:
As for Michael 'slumming' it. He couldn't keep a job before the crash. Assuming he actually made it back, what makes you think he could do so now? Then toss in that the island could be torturing him like the O6, I doubt he could stay focused on work.
Jacob in the box. I like that idea. For some reason I think Michael as #1 then someone we don't know at #2. I'm just not getting that Ben vibe everyone else has. That just smacks of, what they want you to think before they throw the curveball, to me.

I think that "Jacob" is as much a manifestation of the island as the black smoke.

Exactly. Simply put, he was on the plane and survived the crash. The problem is that for it to appear as Kate's kid she would have had to be pregnant before the plane took off. Come on, you don't think the media would eat that up? Pregnant woman survives crash, delivers baby on deserted island and survives?
Time differential or not, I think that is a little detail the federal marshal and his team would have known.
I truly think it is Claire's Aaron. They made a point of showing Kate having a glass of wine with Sawyer. Hello... clue!
So I doubt she was pregger's with Sawyer's kid and was just keeping it from him.

Why wouldn't Michael also get the money? Did he not go down with Oceanic 815 too? The settlement has nothing to do with how anyone got off the island but who survived the crash. If he came forward, he'd have the settlement.

So does Daniel have the same powers as Walt?

I still think that Daniel's issues stem from memory problems and not physic abilities.

Not that I think that he goes back to the U.S., but isn't Bernard the only New Yorker on the island? He could be the one in the coffin. Doubtful, but it's one possibility.

If it is Michael in the coffin, then why is Jack sad about it and more importantly why did he go to the funeral? Is it because he got them off the island via the freighter?
Also I think Kate and Claire are the same person ala Fight Club.
Think about it, you never see Kate and Claire in the same scene with someone else talking to both of them alternately...
Actually, don't think too hard about it.
