I saw the pilot at the end of last summer and to be perfectly honest - it was impossible not to fall in love with this series.
By the end my friend and I were devising plans to break into NBC studios to steal the dailies for future episodes because we really wanted to know what happens next.
And its MUCH better than Cashmere (which is surprising a very watchable show in its own right).

Awful, 6-7 deeply dramatic stories thrown at the audience at once before we even get an idea or introduction to the characters. It was depressing to watch. Cashmere Mafia is much better in my opinion, much more playful and fun, Lipstick was painful.

Wow!!!
There are soooooo many differences between this pilot and the original one from last summer. Almost all of the cast, except the 3 leaders, were recasted and the characters were all changed. Kids were added/subtracted, and so were several smaller storylines (the ones that made the serious 'fun')...
I don't know if I like this new version...

I thought this show was kind of a downer. Cashmere Mafia is much more fun.
Out of three women, they had to give 2 of them marriage problems? It was kind of depressing.
I kept wondering where I knew the third woman from (the single one). I had to look her up at IMDB to remember it was Pepper Dennis. I actually loved that show.

Alas, S&TC can't be duplicated, even with 2 attempts. Yeah - Andrew McCarthy as Mr. Big. The only thing that makes this show better is that the chicks are more attractive.
I see that Cashmere is getting discussion in this thread. Maybe each week should be a 2 for the price of 1 combination thread for these clone shows.

It's no Sex and the City. The thing with this and Cashmere Mafia is the characters just aren't fun and they're people you really don't want to hang out with on a regular basis.
I bet you the Sex and the City Movie will be much better even with the girls in relationships now.

I totally agree with you -- the original pilot was brilliant and I was really looking forward to seeing more. But after seeing how they butchered the original pilot into mediocrity, I doubt I'll watch any further.
I can't believe that the producers allowed the NBC suited chimps to destroy their show.

This was pretty bad. At least Cashmere Mafia is kind of light and fun. I'm debating whether to give this a 2nd chance (as well as the equally terrible Eli Stone a 3rd chance) or just free up my Thursday 10pm slot until ER returns.
As has been said by others, at Andrew McCarthy as Mr. Big.
