One Tree Hill "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" 1/29/08

I'm usually not into these type episodes so we'll see...
Spoiler:
In this mostly flashback episode, memories are revisited and the events that took place between graduation and the present are remembered: Lucas meets with Peyton in Los Angeles and they discuss how his career is still on the floor. Nathan loses his cool when a reporter triggers memories about his cheating in high school basketball games.

So I guess One Tree Hill is like Lost now with all the flashbacks?

OTH jumped four years ahead because most teen shows that enter into college years (90210, Dawson's Creek) often hurt the show. But this will be fun to watch to fill in what happened the last four years.

It was great to see Whitey again, but it was kind of hard to believe Lucas would be coaching college basketball at 19. Looks like next week is going to setup,
Spoiler:
Nathan sleeping with the nanny.

Good to see Whitey. I hope that isn't all we get to see of him.

I found it funny that the court logo said Division I-AA National Championship. There is no I-AA in college hoops. I suppose someone figured that out before they actually filmed the scene because they kept saying the Division II National Championship.

I thought it was ridiculous that Whitey just left the floor in that situation. I understand what he was trying to do, but still. I also think that the concept of a undergraduate student-head coach defies belief.

I couldn't care less about the Lucas/Peyton story.

Agreed on all counts. For some reason, though, I like the Lucas and Peyton stuff. Kind of the heart of the show now. Who couldn't see the nanny thing coming as soon as the character was introduced.

It's about time something happens. There's just an excitement missing so far this season. A lot of it has to do with Dan Scott being a non-factor (and Brooke's mom is just not quite enough to be his replacement). Plus it's just missing that shared environment of high school... they need to expand this show out to show us they are all part of a community. Introduce new characters that aren't tethered to the existing ones somehow (as Lindsay is to Lucas, as the nanny is to the Scotts, as bitchy news lady is to Mouth, etc.)

It was awesome to see Whitey again... I was frightened that they were going to kill him or something =P, hopefully we will see more of him.

And personally I loved all the backstory, it actually help flesh out a lot of what is going on.
