I'm anxious to find out more about Jacob also.
The Dharma film on Season 3's DVD made it seem like they were possibly experimenting with time travel. This would make it almost seem like when the button wasn't pushed back with Desmond in the past, it caused a time shift that made a duplicate of the plane and the two were too close in proximity to each other, causing them to damage each other. One crashed on the island and the time-displaced one crashed in the ocean somewhere killing everyone (or vice versa). This also makes me think that Jacob is slightly time-displaced making him invisible to most people, but people with a certain kind of perception are able to see and/or hear him. It's hard to tell from the flash of his profile and eye in the episode, but it's fun to try and guess who he is. I wonder if he could be the asian guy from the training videos? P.S. I didn't put any of this in spoiler tags, because it's pretty much all speculation. |
#22 Why did the smoke monster spare Eko the first time but kill him the second? |
Didn't we find out ina flashback later on, that he was a fraud? I think he admitted that to someone (jacks dad I think??) maybe somebody got to him and made him do it? |
Anyone else believe the theory that the island is actually like pergutory and everyone is already dead? They are trying to overcome their demons or whatever to get into heaven. I mean charlie overcame his drug addiction and became a hero accepting death. Plus in one of the last few episodes locke's dad and someone else I believe the parachuter say there were no survivors from their crash. When you get to heaven or in this case close to it, arent all your ailments supposedly gone, ex. Locke can walk again.

Locke was healed because the island is his place on earth that he can "heal." In the episode where <strike>he</strike> Rose goes to Australia to try to get healed (via her husband), the healer guy says that this location on earth is not "her place to get healed,' but it was for others. |
So when Locke's dad and the parachuter say they are all dead, it could either mean thats what news reports assumed because they didnt find all the bodies, since I dont think they went into detail as saying all the bodies were found or maybe locke's dad and the parachuter are lying for seperate reasons.

My guesses, in order of most to least likely: Ben, Michael, Richard (I think we have a lot to learn about Richard). Ben would seem most obvious because of how Kate reacted when Jack brought it up. |

As for the list of questions... that list is hardly complete. However, it does seem to contain a large chunk of them. A couple of the questions have been answered or have been slowly unfolding. It will take some time. One question that few seem to ask, and is probably one of the absolute LARGEST questions of the whole series is: Where are they? This is the question Charlie asks at the end of the Pilot episode and it is something that no one is sure of. I have heard Damon Lindelof talk about this before on their podcasts and I'm sure that this is going to be really important to the story. Anyway, I'll try to add more to this thread later, but for now... that's probably enough. There is so much to analyze on LOST that it can be overwhelming for those that truly want to understand all the mysteries. I feel pretty confident that our questions will be answered though. It's just a matter of time. We have 48 episode left to watch. Eight of which have been finished and will be aired starting next week. I'm excited! |

either we have a short break between seasons, and deal w/ chunks of episodes between september and may (which everyone complained about) or we have a very long hiatus between seasons, but are given all the episodes in a row |

#2 Why does the psychic warn Claire that evil surrounds her baby and she must be the only one to raise it? Didn't we find out ina flashback later on, that he was a fraud? I think he admitted that to someone (jacks dad I think??) maybe somebody got to him and made him do it? Yes, he was supposed to be a fraud, but didnt he pay for Claire to take the plane to hawaii suggesting that he knew it was going to crash and kill her "evil" baby? |

As for my specualtion as to who's in the coffin, I assumed it was Sawyer. Sadly I'll have a longer wait than most to see season 4 (we wait for the DVD).. so I guess I'll only be checking out this thread for another week. lol It's interesting to hear everyone's theories... the time travel thing and there being two planes is very interesting. |
iTunes has a free 8:15 minute recap if anyone wants a refresher.

This thread makes me think aobut those mid-season recap episodes and their actual importance to those watching VERY closely. IMO they have always made it very clear which little parts were important (by covering it during the recap) and what is just there to make viewers go hmmmmm... I'm with the rest of the fans in wishing they would answer more stuff, especially things that had an entire episode devoted to it, but it's clear some is just simply like the shark logo. Simple fluff.

Anybody know for sure how many episodes they are supposed to run statrting next week before it stops again? I've heard and read different things that totally conflict with each other.
Also, anybody wish they would just not have any episodes this season and make one fo the others longer? I feel this short run before another break is just going to hurt the show even more. |
I heard 16 episodes for the next 3 years and season 6 is the last year. Thats 4 months worth Feb-May

The producers are idiots for "giving in" and making it this new format. I mean give me a break, television has been airing things in this format for as long as I have been alive, if people haven't figured it out by now, it's their problem. Personally, I have no problem with not having them all in a row. It makes you have something to look forward to if there is a break here and there. Yeah you might groan when you find out it's not on next week, but that's part of the television experience. Why should the rules change for Lost? I guess people are getting too spoiled. |
A big question for me is why are so many people directly involved with someone dieing?
