The Amazing Race 12 -- "Honestly, They Have Witch Powers Or Something!" -- 12/30/07

"Honestly, They Have Witch Powers or Something!"
Spoiler:
The remaining teams continue in the eighth leg of the race. The continued stress of the race takes its toll on Ronald and Christina, causing them to revert to their old, poor communication. Kynt & Vyxsin use dirty play by resorting to "performance art" in an attempt to trick two competitors into purchasing tickets for a later flight, as they find themselves facing an additional task called the Speed Bump that will not have to be completed by any other teams. A "nail-biting race to the Pit Stop" is promised. The teams face various tasks in Mumbai, India, where tasks involve elephants and propane tanks.

Well I guess we got an answer to one of our questions tonight:

Spoiler:
We know that the teams don't necessarily know who is before or after them when it comes to a yield, since the goths tried to yield a team that was ahead of them

The Pinks: I'm sorry to see them go... I liked them.

Tk and Rachael are my favorites.

Father and Daughter duo: The father is a complete idiot.

Gramps and Grandson.. he didn't look good at all in that cab... yikes.
He seemed to perk up at the finish line.

Nick and his chick: She's a complete bitch and he's just a idiot. Two peas in the pod.

Well, K and V have only themselves to blame. Sure, they didn't know who was behind them, but they had to figure that Nate and Jen would U-Turn them. It was just a stupid move.

Considering the sleep deprivation, the weird travel hours, and the fact that Don is 70 years old, it's pretty impressive that Nick and Don are still in the race. If I were them I'd still be pissed that I had to get a tattoo on a non-elimination leg. What kind of BS is that?

I'll be happy if TK and Rachel, Nick and Don, or Christina wins (as long as she dumps Ron in the bay before she gets to the finish line).

Wow.. Kynt had some really stupid logic going there regarding who to U-Turn.

At least Ron acknowledges he's being an ass. But it doesn't excuse him. Christina takes too much time trying to correct him politely tho.

At the Bollywood poster hanging, I was just waiting for her to shove all that glue down her father's throat: "Eat paste Old Man!!"

In fairness to him though, the other team did finish the garland-flower thing and left before them so they had every reason to believe that they had already been to the U-Turn first. He had no idea they had gotten lost on the way.

I was really sad to see them go, but happy that TK & Rachel are still in it.

But I would have really wondered why Nathan and Jen didn't use the u-turn on me if we were that close. The goths didn't finish that far behind where they couldn't see Nate and Jen at least go to the bridegroom. If that's the case, they should have u-turned TK and Rachel who have been struggling more then anyone to get tasks done. Nick and Don came in first on the last leg. Nate and Jen were last getting their stupid clue from the newspaper. That's why I thought it was a super brain fart.

I am going to miss both of them. And Kynt too.

I would have much rather the the bickering couple (they deserve each other) or the crazy Asian dad (nobody deserves him) be gone.

Happy for TK and Rachel.

I thought that speed bump was pretty lame. If they're going to introduce a brand new aspect to the game, they should have made it more challenging for the racers and more exciting for the viewers than a yoga lesson.

I had thought in the past that at the Yields (now U-turns) there was some way of knowing which teams were ahead of you--like they removed their picture from the box or something. But apparently not since the goths didn't appear to know.

Nate and Jennifer are fun to watch because they stress out so much. I actually respect Jennifer somewhat. She comes across as bitchy, but it is because she is ultra-competitive and so she freaks out when her team is doing poorly. Maybe not the best way to handle things, but I understand it because I know people just like her and they are pleasant enough most of the time. And she's not timid about taking the challenges on. Nate, on the other hand, seems to revert to the mentality of an 8-year-old whenever the pressure is on.

I keep rooting for Christina (and Ronald), but I can see them imploding soon because of Ronald's stubborness. His insistance on arguing with the judge at their poster detour was really, really stupid.

I thought it was perfect given the "speed bump" name: something that takes time but really isn't much more than an annoyance.

That Yoga thing could have been a disaster if someone like the Grandfather or Ronald had to do it. It just so happens that the youngsters got to do it and it went well.

ha ha, that was great! "he keeps changing his mind!" Rather than just shut up and plow through, he wastes time arguing.

Pulling for TK & Rachel as well. You could really see how happy they were to win that vacation in St. Martin.

I really don't think Gramps and the kid will make it. I wish Christina could win, but Ron is such a dick. Nate & Jennifer are easily the most annoying team left. I really hope they screw up somewhere along the way.

I'm surprised 3/5 teams picked the garland challenge. It seemed far more time consuming than the poster challenge (Ron's stubbornness aside).

Well, Rachel works with flowers so it made sense for them to do it. Nate and Jen would have fought at either challenge so I don't think it really mattered. I also think Kynt and Vixxen would have been ok at either one. Doing the challenge that Nate and Jen did could have been a benefit if they had U-Turned the right team.

I love how every episode begins with Ronald saying that he needs to treat Christina better, and that this leg will be the one where he turns over a new leaf. And every episode, he's a complete dick to her.

Nick and his chick: She's a complete bitch and he's just a idiot. Two peas in the pod.
The other thing I love is how, once an episode, Jennifer says she's not sure if her relationship with Nate will last. Here's a hint, Jennifer: you hate your boyfriend and your boyfriend hates you. Break up with him already!

These two are way too insecure to break up. It's going to take at least one kid and a restraining order before one of them amazingly comes to the conclusion that they may not be right for each other.

Sad that Kynt and Vyxsin are eliminated from the race. I really don't undertand the logic in Kynt yielding Nicholas and Donald. I would've yielded Nathan and Jennifer, because at least I knew for sure that they were behind me.

I hope Nicholas and Donald win the race.

I don't think Ronald will ever be nice to his daughter.
