Not sure if there's a thread about this or not? I want Rhydian to win I thought he was a bit wierd at the start (I only saw his initial audition later) but he has an AMAZING operatic voice and is such a good performer.

Your probably not going to get any comments about this show since it's only broadcasted in the UK. Even though Simon Cowell is one of the judges, American Idol is running next month and that's pretty much all his fans here in the States watch.

Well, I watched this season over the Christmas break (downloaded it, it's a guilty pleasure of mine). I was disappointed with the result. Leon has a nice enough voice but he's going to be forgettable in the long run.

I have to say, I enjoy the X Factor format more than the Idol format. I like the variety with the different categories, and I like the competitive aspect of it all. Plus I think it brings more of a human aspect to its contestants, where in Idol I feel we never really get to know the competitors. And I love that X Factor has the gall to include acts like the bizarre Rhydian and the goofy Same Difference. The US audience would probably hate both those acts, but unlike Idol's odder contestants like Sanjaya those acts could actually sing.
