If you’re posting on a site called DVD Talk, I think your question is already answered.

What will you watch to fill the void?

dvds, History, Discovery channel, etc.

Very simple answer:

Catch up on my 60+ hours of DVR programming

Watch some of my DVD collection

Watch the movies coming in from Netflix.

I'm not going to say I will specifically watch show A, B, C etc.

Probably catch up on my NCIS. I still have quite a few episodes from last season and haven't watched this current one.

I've been working through my unwatched DVD pile while the TIVO has been filling up with this seasons shows.

So during the strike I'll be watching this season's shows/episodes.

I was going to check out Veronica Mars on DVD since everybody raves about it so much. But after seeing what a shitty actress Kristen Bell is on Heroes I'll probably go with another show.

Give the pilot a chance. Just rent the first disc (and ignore the Paris Hilton episode), and you'll fall for the series.

In here, too, Groucho?! Seriously, you should give her a shot in Mars. She is so instantly likeable in that show, maybe she'll turn you around.

I have some series stacked up that I want to watch(Mad Men, Rome), but I honestly want to read more. So I'm going to use the excuse of there being no new tv to catch up on some books.

The WGA strike could revive the Book Talk forum.

Lord help us!

I have a lot of recorded shows on my DVR and piles of unwatched DVDs that I need to catch up on. I'm not really stressing myself on what to do once the new episodes run out plus my job always keeps me busy.

Sounds like you're doing exactly what I think some other folks watching Heroes are doing - you're confusing the actress with the part she's playing. Bell's a great actress, and if watching the first season of Veronica Mars doesn't completely change your opinion on that, than no offense Groucho, but you're just hopeless.

I'm assuming December will mark the final new episodes of most of the major network series. In which case, my TV viewing will become:

Life on Mars (series 2)
Torchwood (series 2 starting January on BBC America)
Monk (the remainder of the current season, starting in January)
Psych (the remainder of the current season, starting in January)
Stargate Atlantis (unaffected by the strike)

I am going to rewatch series I own on DVD from the start... stuff that I've wanted to watch again in their entirety - Friends, The OC, Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Angel and The Shield to start.
