Maybe the pizza comes after the 30 minute delivery guarantee and it's free?

The sound stage lighting wrecks havoc on actual food. Look closely at dinner scenes (especially sitcoms) and you'll see more "playing" with the food, then any actual eating. A lot of the "food" used is fake and inedible.

And the delivery guy just takes your word for it and doesn't count it?

Besides, usually when this happens it is literally just a wad of money. Not pre-counted, neat, folded money.

Hello, Pizza Hut? Please deliver 1 large Pepperoni Lover's and just put it on my tab. thanks!

It seems that we only remember people paying when it's integral to the story. Now I'll have to pay more attention to these kinds of scenes.

Actually, yes, the driver never counts in my presence. He rings the bell, I grab the pizza from him, put it down on our end table right by the door, I give him the money, and I shut the door after we exchange thank yous. I don't stiff the pizza folks, but I imagine they would ring the bell again if they counted the money after that and they didn't get enough.

I haven't to my recollection seen what you recount, but the wad of money would throw me more than anything. Who just keeps a wad of money in their pocket? An 8 year old, maybe.
