I was on the fence between Bionic Woman and Journeyman, but I tend to watch Bionic Woman first so I voted that. I really am enjoying Journeyman also, so it was a tough choice.

I already dropped both Chuck and Life. Life I found to be very dull, and Chuck was ok, but I just found it to be too "slight". I needed to trim my TV watching and Chuck just did not have anything making it must-watch TV for me.

Can I save Studio 60?

mwbmis 11-12-07 02:37 PM

Voted for Journeyman. I like Chuck, but I still find some of the supporting characters irritating, and I think having each emergency take place in LA every week will wear thin. Life is interesting, but at it's core it's just another cop show. Plus, it faces the catch 22. It has to resolve the Crews mystery, but where does go from there.

Hey, it was in Palo Alto last week!

Ronnie Dobbs 11-12-07 03:40 PM

I would save Freaks and Geeks or Friday Night Lights. Boomtown was pretty good as well. As for the choices above. Chuck is decent but nothing i rush home for. Bionic woman entertained me for about 15 minutes and I haven't seen any of the others.

Exactly. I chose "none" too.

Funny that, of those 4, the only one I'd actively like to see disappear is Chuck. I just find it to be generic, lazy TV. Guess I'm in the minority with that opinion.

devilshalo 11-12-07 06:38 PM

If you're saving Boomtown, I want to save Homicide.

superman69 11-12-07 07:41 PM

wow, for me the order would be
Journeyman> Life> Chuck> Bionic Lass

i really enjoy Journeyman, i like the actors, the premise, the open ended possibilities for storylines, and the whole show i just seem to enjoy. while i admit it has had a stretch of so-so moments, the ending to the pilot was rock solid. the ending to the last episode stands pretty tall as well

i agree with what someone had said already about "Life", once the crews mystery is solved, what then? i enjoy the actors here as well (wow 2 shows with unknown actors that in my opinion are pretty good) as the lead character seems to a cop drama what House does to the medical drama, they make the show

Chuck to me seems like mindless fun, a show that doesnt appear to take itself too seriously, but also still packs in the action. pretty much the perfect guy show. action, easy to follow plot, hot chicks and more action. not many guy shows where you cant wait for the lead to hook up with the hot chick (im still a few episodes back, so dont ruin it for me if said event has taken place)

lastly Bionic Woman, wow, what a cluster%#&$ of a show, outside of the use of words like douchebag and some other choice terms i found interesting for an Network show, not too much has jumped out. ive only watched 2 episodes and have the rest on DVR, possibly the only good thing to come from this strike is i will be able to catch up on my viewing, til then, i somewhat reserve judgement, but at the same time dont really have it for this show. this above all i wouldnt be broken to see go away, but given that it is somewhat watchable id rather keep it

Life

Ronnie Dobbs 11-12-07 07:59 PM

was Homocide canceled? that show had a great run. Yaphet Kotto.

Sparrow 11-12-07 08:12 PM

I so love Life, so that gets my vote. I enjoy the characters, the crime of the week and the fact that he'll eventually trace who framed him. All good stuff to look forward to every week.

Here are my choices

Life > Chuck > Journeyman > Bionic Woman

I'll never forgive Melina Kanakaredes and Providence for this..

Journeyman.

aktick 11-12-07 09:07 PM

How is Bionic Woman? I watched the pilot, and have the last 5 or so saved, but just haven't felt compelled to watch anymore. I always plan on catching up, but other shows end up taking priority. I enjoyed the pilot, but wasn't wowed by it. Sackhoff was the best part about it, at least in the first ep.

It was the one I chose on the poll.

It isn't *great* (I don't think any of the 4 are)... but it shows promise. If you enjoyed the pilot, you might as well keep going. It's pretty much at that level for all of them so far.

(And Sackhoff is in most of the episodes so far...)

raven56706 11-12-07 09:55 PM

anything but chuck

Jimmy James 11-12-07 10:37 PM

I'll split my vote between Newsradio and Stark Raving Mad, seeing as how that's an hour total.

Sorry -- I didn't even sample any of these shows. None of them spoke to me.

Okay great thanks for your insight. Go back to your CBS sitcoms and Dancing with the Stars then.

I voted for life, but on second thought I think I would go for Chuck. My interest in Life has remained the same since the first episode, but my interest in Chuck has increased with each episode.

It's so funny when fans of shows/teams/movies/bands get so defensive when someone else doesn't like "their" thing.

The thread didn't call for "insight." But, I agree, clearly he's confused since Chuck is the obvious choice here.

Not everyone shares your tastes. That doesn't mean that they LACK taste.

I personally find Chuck to be mildly diverting, but also filled with cliche, bland characters, repetitive and unfunny situations (that the creators obviously find hillarious), and an inconsistent tone.

If you love it, more power to you. But I'll point out that I don't watch any reality competition shows or CBS comedies...

rfduncan 11-13-07 09:11 AM

Hmm. I like all of them and expect only Chuck to survive. Honestly, it wouldn't get my vote because it doesn't NEED saving. I think NBC will hold on to it regardless. The 10pm shows run the biggest risk since Medium will likely fill a 10pm slot when it returns in January. I voted Journeyman since I think that is getting the crumbiest ratings, and the show is just now starting to get really interesting...
