..and here i thought it was because the planet they were filming on blew up and a limited number of filmed episodes were found after the last meteor shower... ;)

I've always liked looking at Lana, but please kill her character off! I can't stand her storyline or the bad acting much longer! I still don't understand how such a wimp became so freaking evil/badass.

Aside from Lana, this season has been ok. It's not as amazing as last season, but nothing terrible. I've enjoyed the introduction of the cousin. I do wish they'd focus more plot on Clark though, especially if this could be the last season, and a short one at that.

The editor of the Daily Planet is a joke. No one questions him being too young, and Lois trusts him in spite of his terrible lies/acting? Isn't she the super suspicious, trust no one type?

I'm longing for an episode with an actual villian with powers. Maybe a supervillian cameo would be fun. Maybe a Smallville version of Doomsday if this is the final season.

At first I just thought it was some puritanical network note, but after the bang-session that had foundations cracking all over the midwest (which was HILARIOUS, by the by), now I just think it's an unneccessary story point.

I too was thinking about kryptonite condoms and such after this episode. But I read it a little differently. Not that tehy couldn't have sex, but that they could now have really, really rough sex. Clark doesn't have to hold anything back kind of sex. Literally throw each other around, like Lana did in the kitchen before tehy went upstairs. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

I assume you meant "goo". :) My interpretation is that it's eventually going to become Braniac again.

I'm torn between hating the Lana-centric episodes and liking the darker place they're going this season.

The editor must die. For someone with such "keen" detection skills, it's sure taking Lois a long time to realize that he's working for Lex.

Hoping that Brainiac comes back soon and that Clark calls in the Justice League to stop him.

Side note: is it set in stone that there will only be 15 eps? Or will/can they make more if it is all resolved soon?

How many of these are in the can? Is it going to be affected by the strike?

I don't think I agree with that. While I welcome Marsters back to play Braniac, I'm actually very pleased with the episode. There was a lot of interaction btween Clark and Lex, and it wasn't just "you're not welcome here". Actually how awsome was it Lex called him out on that? I especially like how Clark called out Lex and then Lex threw it back in his face saying he was Lana's reason for changing. Nice!

As a result of that, it gave added meaning to Clark and Lana's exchange in the barn at the end. I'd have to go back and watch it to call out my interpretation excactly, but at least it wasn't more of the same old. On the surface it was a simple reversal, but in actuality it was more than that.

This episode had 2 really laugh out loud moments for me.

First, the seismic thrusting sound effects. rotfl

And the line from Lois to Lana: "Was there a Joan Jett look-alike contest I missed?"
