This week's ep was probably already scripted by Monday. But yeah, there's no way there can be a new episode next week, unless they already have a script "banked" and ready to go.

First of all, my understanding is that animated programs are not necessarily written by WGA writers, and, second of all, there are a lot of celebrities who showed up for like one day on the picket lines and will then go back to doing whatever their "producer" duties entail, even if they say they aren't writing.

I don't see why Parker and Stone would be on strike. They got some massive recent cash-in precisely because their lawyer, who was some kind of savant in 1997, threw something about digital distribution and emerging format rights into their contract. My understanding is that this translated to unusually good compensation for DVDs and a really powerful position on online distribution.

Also, even if their other writers walk out, they could have had the script in the hopper ahead of time. It's not like this was a big surprise, and spinning "Imaginationland" into three episodes must have taken a little bit of deadline strain off the writers.

Isn't Trey Parker the sole writer on South Park?

Even their most timely episodes are generally at least two weeks behind the news, so I'm sure the finale was already done before the strike.

Matt and Trey are indeed in the WGA.

I usually wait for the DVD to start watching South Park, but I have to make an exception for today.

This sounds like it will be hilarious.

They probably aren't getting time off... They would still be performing their other non-writing duties.

The strike seems like it would be the perfect excuse Trey and Matt have been looking for to pre-emp South Park with another full length Terrance and Phillip episode. Are the Canadian writers on strike too?

"Carry On My Wayward Son" is my favorite song on GHII. Love the reaction of everyone.

I've learned three things from watching tonight's episode:

1. Kids could learn to actually play an instrument in the time it takes them to master a fake guitar game.
2. You'll never catch the dragon.
3. Assassin's Creed looks pretty sweet.

The ending with Stan's dad killed me, as has every moment involving him this season. I also loved the Colonel from Boogie Nights being the record exec.

I wonder if getting 1 million points will unlock that message .

The last thing we really need in this world are more bands. I think about 1 out of 3 people I meet these days say that they are in a band of some sort. Guitar Hero provides many gamers with entertainment without putting those thoughts of becoming a "rock star" in their heads. And Assassin's Creed does look pretty sweet. Well, at least enough for a rental.

I love the reference to "That Thing You Do" with the whole "I Quit, I Quit, I Quit I quit I Quit" song when his backup guy left!

You might want to re-read my statement. You got an awful lot out of my simply saying they could learn to play an instrument.

I understand what you are saying but I was simply making a joke to go along with your statement.

Ah. I guess I interpreted it as more of a mini-diatribe as opposed to a joke.

Haha, I loved it when Thad was auditioning with just his guitar controller. "Ohh, i LOVE this song!"

Also loved how Randy rocks with the real guitar, yet can't play Guitar Hero worth crap. So true...
