I agree, Dexter is generally very careful but in this instance he was completely careless. He could have taken his boat out and cleaned it but he did it while docked?! Makes no sense. Lila is obviously going to turn out to be a complete nutcase and mess with Dexter's life pretty hardcore. Also I'm getting a little annoyed with Rita's badass persona, though last week when she saw Lila the look on her face was priceless and overall I do still like her.

I am curious how he will get out of this, because cleaning is okay, but not in the middle of the night with a black light.

If seen speculation that the camera wasn't even pointing at Dexter's boat, so it could be a red herring. I don't know, though, I'm hoping it is, but dramactically it could be very interesting.

They already know he has a boat there. I guess I don't see what the big deal is. It is not like he was dragging a body down the dock.
Everyone knows he is odd. He could explain the black light as him being anal about cleaning and since he knows how to use them. I bet Mr. Monk would use one to clean his house too if he had one.
