From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.
well, I stand somewhat corrected.
although I still think the virtual world stuff was craptastic, it looks like it was an actual online thing

Oh it's very real and very big, but obviously there was some freedom taken with it.
As for the handheld thing, it was nothing more than a breakaway number pad.
But yes, very bad.

Putting aside the crass product placement aspect, I have to say that any episode (of any show, really) where most of the "action" involves the main characters doing something on a computer is never a good idea.
And as a side note, that may be the worst, most inefficient assassin ever.

I like Gary Sinise, but when the most thrilling moment is when your main character yells "Log off now!" (or something like that), you know you're in trouble.

Chew, that's not the one I saw...maybe it was last week. It was a police/law/investigation type of show. A murder victim had altered her appearance to match an avatar (or something like that). Not sure if it was SecondLife specifically, or some other generic virtual world. It will come to me eventually.

I don't understand it....why is this episode getting all this attention? 9 times out of 10 noone talks about CSI:NY on this forum. I am a fan of the show and one of the best episodes last season (the season finale) that was filled with action and Gary Sinise being a bad ass didn't get a thread made or any discussion last May.

Wow!!!... The hate!
Yeah, yeah, it’s not exactly %100 accurate; but I enjoyed it and at least it was entertaining and wasn’t the usual CSI stuff.
I’ve heard of Second Life, but didn’t really know what it was. Now that I know, I still don’t care.
I think I know who’s calling Mac…

I didn't think the episode was terrible, but I really have to wonder what the writers were thinking when they penned it. Fortunately the show is usually a hell of a lot better than this (and better than both of the other CSI entries), so I can easily dismiss a poor episode.

Plus I like how they remixed The Who's "Baba O'Riley" song and made it shorter and faster paced.
