I don't know why everyone here is so down on this show. I finished watching this last night and I was entertained. The show IMO has gotten better each. I don't get all the hate for Michelle Ryan either. For an unknown actress from the UK, I think she's done a solid job as Jaime. Yeah she's not as attractive as a Jennifer Garner or doesn't come close as far as acting goes, but IMO she's done a good job with the material she's been given. Seems like everyone is trying to hint this is a Alias knock-off, which I don't think it's setting out to be.
I thought the action scenes in this episode were good and I like the fact that Jaime is having a hard time trying to do her job and protect her little sister.
But, for me the highlight of this series has definitely been Katee Sackhoff. If this gets a full season, hopefully they can sign her up for more episodes.

A: It's a TV show. They can't do wire work and effects EVERY fight. The budget would be too high.
So, the writers assume the viewer will just fill in the blanks eg. Jaime is pulling her punches because she doesn't want to kill, only incapacitate, etc.

So now this guy is on the loose with this thumb drive with all of this bionic intel on it. Hmm. I like how these early episodes are sort of leaving little elements behind that could add up to something big should the show make it that far.
As far as all the nay sayers and haters of this show, I'll be checking back to this thread to see who is still moaning about the show in the 10/24 thread this Thursday morning instead of tuning out.

When I first saw the pilot at Comicon, I was excited about the direction the series seemed to be going and the enthusiasm of the cast and producers.
When I watched the second episode on TV, my excitement was muted somewhat by the change in direction that inevitably takes place between shooting the pilot and the rest of the series... the boyfriend inexplicably died, the headquarters became some low-rent bunker that they can just stroll into at any time, and it seemed to become a mission-of-the-week type of series. They introduced out of nowhere the concept that Jamie was somehow picked from much earlier on to be part of this program, but revealed it in the sloppiest of ways (she happened to step on the "secret hiding place" by chance). And she now has sufficiently overcome the trauma of losing her boyfriend/child to become sympathetic to Sarah Corbis, the woman who not only caused her to become bionic in the first place, but also caused said loss of boyfriend and child. Don't get me wrong, Bionic Starbuck is perhaps the best part of this series, but c'mon now.
It's become a show that I'll watch in the background, but not one that I'll be excited to see when a new ep appears on the DVR. I'll continue following it because I love BSG, but I admit it is a bit of a disappointment to me.

ok, don't get me started on Female Heroes wearing Heels in fights and while running....running at super speed no less. I HATE seeing that.

I hate it in comic books, and I hate it in movies and tv shows.I realize they do because heels and boots with heels is sexy to some Fanboys but it's just not practical.

It was my first and maybe my last episode. Didn't like it. Took it off my "record" list, though I may catch it again "live" (don't have the space on my DVR).
I did notice them playing a Daniel Johnston song at the end ("Living Life"), but it wasn't Johnston singing. Anyone know who it was? Sounded like Beck.
