I thought after the way Barney has been built up, the fact that he hasn't had a threesome is just absurd, even with the 'explanation'.

Yes, I was also very surprised at that. Barney should have a collection of belts.

I had to watch the intro on CBS.com again to see if the belt was in the background when he was talking to his kids in the future...that's something the show would have done...alas it was not there...

I have the worst luck with this show (up until last night). I have only tuned in maybe 5 or 6 times, and those shows have been among the worst of the series according to friends of mine who watch. I accidentally left the TV on CBS while doing other things last night and got rewarded with a very funny epsiode. I just might have to continue watching.

All I have to say is that if Ted were able to restrain himself, after opening the door to, more than likely, find Busy and Danica intertwined... He has more willpower than I ever believed possible.

(I was really hoping it would end with Barney asking, and Ted being apprehensive about the entire thing. Ted would then say "Well, I need another beer," and stands up, wearing the belt.)

That would have been awesome.

Winnie Cooper and Kim Kelly/Audrey together...everything else was just white noise.

Dull episode last night. This show thrives when Barney gets a lot more screen time and doesn't when we have to put up with more-than-normal Ted-the-douchebag.

Great episode, yes it was strange that older Ted would tell his kids a story about if he had a threesome, and I doubt that Barney wouldn't have won the belt before Ted.

It really was out of place.

If I'm not mistaken, this was one of the stories he chose not to tell his children. At the beginning of the episode, when it cuts to 2030 Saget, he says something along the lines of: "Kids, I know you think you've probably heard all the stories, but there are some stories you tell... and some stories you don't."

I believe this was one of the latter.

Filler episode, not bad, but kind of hope they get back into progress/plot mode.

The Robin subplot was silly: all she had to do was tell him her situation or just shave her legs at his place.

And, I could've sworn Barney mentioned having a 9-way or something in a previous episode. Beyond suspension of disbelief that his character hasn't had a threesome as mentioned above thread.

Just felt like the writers couldn't past the "Ted has threesome with Winnie Cooper and busty gal from Freaks & Geeks/Dawson's Creek."

It does seem like they're trying to take away Barney's poonhound edge. Next we'll find out that he's really a virgin.
