What was your understanding as to why she didn't want to come back? It seems strange that she refused to return in any capacity. Doesn't it seem strange to you?
Olmstead: It looked like a pretty good deal on the face of it. We definitely came up in money. Thirteen episodes would have allowed the character to have a proper exit. We were willing to push the start date back [to accommodate her maternity leave], which would have meant her coming in [around] Episode 10, but that wasn't accepted. So then we offered to come up [to Canada] before she gave birth and film at her house. Pretty good money and she wouldn't even have to leave her house. That wasn't accepted. So it was a little curious to me and to others why she was taking such a hard stance. [Maybe] she felt that she was made certain assurances about being part of the show this season. And in fairness to her, those assurances were given, because she was such a valuable member of the show…. Also, she's up [in Canada]. She's comfortable. She's starting a family. Maybe she didn't want to have to fly down and have to do this stuff. Or maybe she felt like she wanted to be part of the show [full time], not just half the season. Perhaps she felt a little jilted. Our [original] plan was to definitely keep her for [all of] Season 3, but after a couple of times of getting it kicked back from the network, we had to come up with a new idea and that necessitated her character being killed.

The show is going to take a hit from the female viewership. I read alot of the comments on that Ausiello blog and alot of female fans are pissed.
Personally I never watched this show because of the love story angle (which seemed forced IMO) The story about 2 brothers was what attracted me to watching it in the 1st place. I enjoyed Sarah Wayne Callies in the time she was on, but the show is obviously taking a new angle and I look forward to seeing how it progresses.

1. Buy a white box
2. Put her head in that box
3. Make Lincoln open the box
And that's the way you do it, it's my bitch in a box.
Great ep and this season is moving along quite well. Fox may have balked at other season 3 ideas that led to Sara's demise, but I think clearly they must have known what they were talking about because this season is great... too bad Callies didn't want to work it out because I'd have liked her to be more involved to make Sara's death more powerful, but whatever - can't wait until Michael finds out!

eh, I wasn't shocked by the head in the box bit at all as I was back in what 1995 when the idea was done first? I actually kind of assumed it.
As for Sarah, I am frankly a bit suprised she survived the suicide attempt at the end of Season 1 so I guess I wasn't as shocked as some of you. I agree it's lazy on the networks part though as she was a pretty interesting character.

i am kinda hoping/wishing that the head was someone who looked a lot like sarah and the real sarah is still alive, but only to be revealed a few episodes down the line.

I think that's the worst I've ever seen someone handle a prop gun!

It looks like Prison Break is pre-empted this week (10/15) because of Baseball playoffs. They changed the schedule so no Prison Break this week.

I enjoyed having a break from the show. Why I keep watching is beyond me. It's my least liked show at this point. But I can't stop myself from tuning in every week for some reason.

Has anyone else noticed red "eyes" towards the bottom of the screen? In this episode, they appeared as the camera was panning down when the Sona guys were digging the ditch with Michael. It's wierd- to us it looks like the Terminator's eyes, with a faint edge around them, looking almost like a transparent face (and no- I wasn't drunk or high!)... They were only there for a few seconds. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time we've seen them, but only on Prison Break (which, btw- has been too much fun! Still an edge-of-your-seat ride!!!).
Lemme know if I'm the only one being "watched" by these eyes! lol
(after re-reading this, I know how crazy it sounds....)
