I thought it was a decent episode and I liked all the Sylar stuff a lot... with a show like this, I have patience and trust that they know where we're going, so I don't sweat the confusion/underdeveloped storylines this early...I'm sure this season will end up as good as the last one. |

It's one thing when a show is super hot and people bitch, but it's something else when people bitch and the show is losing viewers. Obviously this board is some sort of microcosm for the viewing public as the viewing public is not too happy with where the show is going and is not watching like it once was. |
Oh, wow - The flying scene was craptastic.
the casting of David Anders was a stroke genius. I guess armed robbers don't need masks in Ireland. |
So, Peter doesn't want to see what's in the box because he's afraid he'll find out he's a bad person. So what does he do instead? Hangs out with a bunch of Irish criminals and commits felonies. Brilliant!

Yeah, this season hasn't started out with near the quality of last season.

A slow episode with not much happening except for Sylar making his way back. Still, I remain mostly entertained.
I don't buy that Peter wouldn't look in the box. C'mon! Something else needs to happen in the Maya/Alejandro storyline. They've been doing the same thing since the beginning. Run, they separate, black oil, together again, run. boring. |
This season is a freaking mess so far. My "holy shit" and "wow" factors from last season are all but gone. My dialing the phone up right after the show, to talk to my folks about it is gone, there is nothing to talk about, oh boy will the Wonder Twins make it to America, ohhh man how intriguing. Roll Eyes
Oh look flying boy took Claire for a ride. Enough of the Claire and my whine, whine, whine about my powers all the time, is there nothing to do with her character than give her another love interest, and have her whine about her powers and struggle with whether or not she should trust her Dad. uggh. As mentioned by the above the Peter story is just plain lame. Sylar/Zachary Quinto is the saving grace so far this season. All I can say is that you have to keep your views happy, you HAVE to give them what they want, or this show is going to end up like Lost, losing viewers by the millions season after season. This show can do better. You're going to get your wish friend. The ratings for Heroes have dropped once again to an all-time low for a new episode. Oh ya, enough of the Star Trek burnouts ok. |
One of the problems this season is experiencing is there are way too many characters to follow. 45 minutes is not alot of time to develop new characters and continue the exploits of the current characters from last season. Why was Niki and Micah thrown into this episode? That was a wasted segment IMO. Don't know how the hell Uhura is going to fit into the mix. Parkman's also become a very un-interesting character so far.
The only storyline that I have really been enjoying is Hiro's exploits in 15th century Japan. I have a feeling that if Heroes doesn't pick up, we're going to see alot of bashing like 24 season 6. |

Now that's I've read all 6 pages of this thread, I'm convinced that there's no convincing the "Heroes Haters." This show has always had the comic book mentality: 22 pages, multiple story lines, minor characters, retreading old scenarios to keep you up to date, etc. Something will happen... eventually. Just sit like a good viewer and wait for it to happen. They have a reason(s) for what they are doing. If you don't like it, turn off the tv or write your own show and give us something else to bitch about. I'm getting off my soapbox now. |

Jesus! This place is ALMOST as bad as IMDb, every show, EVERY SHOW, every season, EVERY SEASON, people whine and sing the same tune: "This show has gone really down hill!" "This show is not good anymore" "This show goes too fast! This show goes to slow!" et-cet-era et-cet-era... It really does get tiring.

I'm going to say I'm still on-board. I don't read comics, so I can't bring that element into it. However, I've been hooked since the premier, and I think it's still good stuff. One question, though: did the episode end with Claire looking at her Dad? This is the first night I've DVRed it, so there was no, "to be continued".
I'm not really sure why she wouldn't take the Flying Guy thing to her Dad. Which, BTW, I'll agree that West is a tool. I'm really interested in the "Wonder Twins", and I never hated the Niki/Jessica/Micah/DL story as much as others have seemed to hate it. I'd like to see David Anders continue on the show, but Hiro has to become a badass somehow. I'm eager to see that play out. Kind of disappointed with the Illusionist. I was expecting something REALLY grotesque from her description of herself last season. And in reference to that, I think a crappy plot device is having Sylar kill off some character that they don't feel needs developing. I think the Illusionist could have been really cool, but I guess no one else thinks so. I think that's all. Can't wait until next week! |
Nikki to Micah- The point.. is staying safe.
Then they go and splash "New Orleans, Louisiana" as their new home. |

The problem is that after the first season, it seems like everything went back to square one.
- HRG with family in suburbia? check - Peter looking for who he is? check (don't even get me started on this amnesia bullshit) - Mohinder looking for more supers? check - Sylar starting over? check - check check check check fucking check I mean, sure there are some differences, but everything is essentially reset and starting over with the same crap, not to mention, even more contrived than before. What a good sequel should do is take what's happened before, and move forward and expand the universe, like, say, Empire Strikes Back. Instead, we're getting a bad regurgitation, like, say, Mummy Returns. The departure of one of the main writers (who's doing Pushing Daisies) is more than obvious. |
I think those of you who think Bryan Fuller's departure is behind any and every issue with the show are far overblowing his reach. He was a writer. He wasn't the head writer. Losing him was a loss, but it doesn't touch and effect every storyline any more than he had an effect on every storyline last year. The show probably would be a little better (and funnier) with him there, but there would still be a lot of stuff going on that you folks would hate.
I say all of that as a fan of Fuller's work. I think Wonderfalls is nothing short of genius, and I have high hopes for Pushing Daisies. It just seems people don't get that this is Tim Kring's show, not Bryan Fuller's. |
Apparently there isn't a lot of crossover between Heroes and Lost or Sopranos viewers on this board. Anyone who stepped in a thread of either Lost or Sopranos for the last few years should be used the hater vs. loyalist retreads.

Why the hell is everyone so ga-ga over David Anders? What, was he formerly in one of those "geek's wet dream" shows?
|
David Anders was on "Alias" where he played an elusive spy named Julian Sark.

No it surely wasn't. I had no clue what else he had been in before. Heroes is the first time I've seen him.

The only thing I find interesting so far with regards to the Wonder Twins is that we were led to believe she couldn't control her powers when her brother wasn't around, but now it looks like she willed the virus onto those people. She may just be an evil person, and not someone who loses control of it due to fear or anxiety.
