great epsiode, Love Creed, acting like hes thirty, Kelly lying to Ryan, Ryan asking out Pam, Pam and Jim and Toby, Everyone finding out was great. Liked the moment when Ryan was telling Andy and Kevin about new york, and them asking jim wouldnt he want the job, Love the stuff with Dwight and Angela. Micheal And Jan scenes were great too. Really good episode.

I haven't really liked either of the first two episodes. They're just not funny. I always thought I would love a one hour office - but it feels too drawn out. I'm hoping they bring the funny when they go back to 1/2 hour.

Too long--something I was worried about with these hour-long episodes. It seems that thirty minutes isn't enough, but an hour is too much. Those "super-sized" episodes were just right.

And Michael driving the car into the lake was just stoooopid.

Excellent ep until they drove into a lake.

Too long? This week and last week are two 1/2 hour shows put together. Try watching them as separate shows if you think it is to long.

While they clearly packaged the shows that way, I think it's pretty apparent that they made the episodes to fit together and share certain theme elements. It still results in a decent idea being stretched a little too thin, just like most half hour two parters.

The reclaiming of the gift basket and the lake plunge were down there with Prison Mike and Dwight's initiation of Ryan as the worst moments on this show.

Ugh. Agreed too long, which left too many unfunny moments.

Creed was awesome ("Sometimes you just gotta ride the Bull--am I right?").

I did like the "age-ism" seminar, featuring the lady from Titanic and the "Where's the Beef?!" woman...

Jim's line was great:

Yep, I totally agree. He's completely in character and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens now that he has a bit of power. Reminds me of some people in my office.

I totally agree. Which is too bad, because I thought it was a pretty strong episode up until that point. I liked the dynamic of having Ryan come back and the effect that it had on the office. Stuff like that keep the show grounded in reality, where it's much funnier and entertaining. Unlike the Michael being so stupid-beyond-belief stuff that happened late in the show and is usually not very funny.

I did think Creed was a riot as usual. And I liked the fact that Ryan was actually calling Michael on his lack of professionalism, which someone should probably have done a long time ago.

Also, I hate to say it, but Jim and Pam together are a little annoying. They have stopped being cute and funny, and now seem to be a bit boring, at least at this point of the development of their storyline. Just my opinion.

The hour-long episodes aren't really working for me... far too much filler. They really seemed to run out of ideas in the second half of the show.

Creed and Toby were great though.

Even though I can never believe Michael Scott would be dumb enough to drive into a lake,

they REALLY filmed Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson driving into a lake.
That was really cool.

It's kind of frustrating to take when they have the best the show has to offer, and the worst all in the same episode. Especially when we are left with Michael lake crash and gift basket retaking to essentially end the episode.

The Toby stuff...awesome. Kelly/Ryan was fantastic, as were PB&J and Dwight/Angela. Creed was perfect, and I loved when Michael mentions the printer being out of ink followed by the pan to black-haired Creed with a smirk.

I really hope, although it won't make it much better, that they're going somewhere with the lake crash as it relates to Michael either driving or handling stress poorly and it wasn't just a big, unexplained, idiotic move. Rarely is there utter silence in my living room for 5 minutes at a time in any episode, but we just sat in stunned silence during that and the gift basket take-back. Yuck!

Wholeheartedly agree. These kinds of craptastic scenes make you scratch your head in wonderment. Makes me appreciate the UK version even more for not ever trying to do too much.

Michael was making a point and I think by now we should know that when Michael wants to make a point he is going to do so

why is it so hard to accept him driving into the lake
not sure why so many people had a problem with this

Wow after cramming in all 3 seasons before this season started, and enjoying every minute, expectations were high and I was stoked, so far 2 hour long meh episodes with minimal laughs. I hope this season gets better.

Yeah, they really went hog wild this episode with both Michael's stupidity and Ryan's douchebaggery.

I do have to say that for some reason Pam looked better and more cute in this episode than in any other episode.
