Moonlight (New Vampire show on CBS, anybody watch?)
Im a big time sucker for anything vampire related so i tuned in tonight for the premiere of this new show. I have to say i really enjoyed it. The lead (Alex O' Loughlin) was solid and has a cool prescense. And the end of the episode they gave some previews for whats in store this season and it looks exciting (hopefully it'll last that long).
If you liked that show Forever Knight you'll dig this....

Although I hate the fact that CBS replaced Close to Home with this show, I will try it. They did some pretty smart cast changes over the summer. I think it was a good choice to dump Shannon Lucio for Sophia Myles.

I'm watching now. I don't usually bother with these weekly "horror" shows but I like the girl from "Underworld" so even though I'd rather being playing video games I'm kinda interested in sticking with tonight's ep.

I saw a little too much "Angel" in the show for a lot of the themes. Black convertible, story line of a vamp-cult was done on Buffy, the blond female reporter even sort of looks like the cop in the early eps of Angel, etc etc etc..
I'll give a few more eps a chance being I like Vampire stuff but it was pretty slow paced..
Oh and at the whole fangs + pale blue eye contacts for the "vampire" look.. I can understand not wanting to do make up but the eyes look totally fake and cheap.. IMO would better to just go with the teeth and be done with it or step up to some $$$$ contact effects
My dog has better looking demon eyes then the vamp do.. Yeah I know, they are sort of freaky..

I like the show agree with the comments regarding the blue contacts, looked a little cheesy. All though nothing could be the cheeze factor then the fast movement, especially the running. Funny thing is with Buffy/Angel I always felt like it needed to be explained how it worked, but after tonight I realize that some mysteries are better left alone.

Gosh, I thought this show was absolutely horrible.
Bad acting, cheesy writing, and it dragged on forever. I looked at the clock thinking it was almost over and I was only at the 30 minutes mark.
And how squicky is it that he saved her as a ittle girl and now they are going to fall in love?
I love Jason Dohring but he was horribly miscast here.

Yeah I agree it dragged on. They're always trying to make Modern Vampires hip and cool and this show was no exception. They shoulda went for action not lame CSI'sh drama.

I guess that's the "hook" for modern day Vampires.

Agree 100%. The only person I actually liked in the show was the lead character. Jason Dohring's character to me was Logan Echols with fangs. This was actually the first new show I watched that I didn't like (Life, Dirty Sexy Money, Journeyman, Bionic Woman all have promise to me).

Maybe I will give this a shot next week if you guys think it has potential. The previews seemed abit cheesy but I did want see it with open mind once. Sadly my dvd movie ended :43 and I said forget by then. Personally I'm not feeling any connect yet this season and with no Amazing Race this year my TV may get a rest.

No matter the talent involved this show was absolutley 100% DOA. Sorry, I'll bet my savings account this is cancelled by Novemeber. It did not work in any way shape or form (and this has been my 2nd my anticipated show of the season).

It was only okay, IMO. My problem with a lot of the new shows is the unknown lead characters are not showing of charisma, this show included. I am fine with bringing on a bunch of new guys and girls instead of retreads, but let's have some people that are likable.

Really? I thought it was good. But then it got me to thinking how annoying it is that we have all these cool UK actors in American shows not using their real accents. I love hearing UK accents so to me it sucks...no pun intended.
House
Journeyman
Moonlight
...and probably a few others.
