Cold Case --Season 5 Premiere-- "Thrill Kill" 9/23/07

Spoiler:
Recovered from the shooting, Lilly wants to convince her boss that she's ready to get back to work. The team re-opens the 1994 case of three 10-year-old kids who were beaten to death when Lilly suspects the teens convicted of the killings may have been wrongfully incarcerated.
This episode features the music of Nirvana!

I'm really excited about Cold Case's return. Last season's season finale was probably one of the best episodes ever produced.

Cold Case really doesn't generate much discussion here, which is disappointing because I think with the music and editing, it's one of the best procedural dramas on TV right now.

I used to watch it all the time but they lost me when Lily fell in love a few season ago.

Does it look like the main female cop got her lips done?

cdollaz, I thought the same thing.

DJariya, I like Cold Case but it's definitely one where I leave my brain at the door while watching.

It's an entertaining show but it definitely lacks in the writing and (mostly guest) acting departments. The music is well chosen but most of the time extremely manipulative and goads the viewer into thinking the story is grand - which it is not.

But, hey, I watch it and enjoy it.

For some reason, my DVR always screws up Cold case, I got the last 10 minutes of "Power of Ten" so I missed the last 10 minutes of cold case. Can someone please spoiler post who did it and why? I got up to the part where
Spoiler:
the spray painting kid flashbacked to finding the kids in the pool.

You should pad Cold Case by about a half-hour, it will be delayed every week because of football.

Spoiler:

The father did it. Turns out he was deathly afraid of the dark and the kids laughed at him because he went down to the basement, dropped his flashlight and was crying in the dark (the kids were hiding in the basement.) He got so mad he beat them all to death with the flashlight and then dragged their bodies to the pool, and placed the stuffed animal in his son's arms like he was sleeping.

I'd do an hour. I tried 1/2 hour padding and didn't get a full episode far too many times.

Padding has gotten more complex. I notice "60 Minutes" is actually "90 Minutes" starting at 7:30 this week and next.

Did the game show get cancelled? Are they trying to allow for the typical game overrun?

Hopefully, "60 Minutes" will continue the "ticking clock" scene, corrected for new run time, so we can pad the evening.

Edit: Game ended before 7:30, "90 Minutes" on time. Should be no padding required tonight.
