What was up with the crew changes? And why is Tommy doing what he's doing? I don't get it.

Loved how we got what Garrity's one night stand really looked like to everyone else and what she looked like through his beer goggles:lol:

Congratulations, Denis. With the final scene of this episode, you've managed to consolidate "Tommy is a superhero firefighter" and "All hot women are crazy and want to fuck Tommy" into one massive masturbatory fantasy.

I expected something bigger to come from Garrity drinking with Lou and his cousin than "he had sex with a woman who was sort of unattractive".

Regarding the crew, those guys are the other shift.

I originally thought Tommy was just trying to cover for the "alcoholic" crew, like in last week's episode. But other than Mike, no one from that crew was drunk for their fire run, so I'm not sure now.

Of course, those who thought last week's ending was a "dream" probably think this whole episode is one too. rotfl

Add me to the chorus of viewers who don't get what's going on with Tommy having to sneak around and disguise himself to go into fires.

And I thought Garrity's beer-goggle-girl still looked pretty good the morning after, too.

And there's an entire other crew --of drunks! in the house, who we've never seen before? WTF

I'll be glad when SUNNY returns next week, that show makes sense.

Wait a sec, theres an entire school of thought that Tommy is really dead? Thats not a spoiler because it doesnt make any sense.

Add me to the list. I have no idea what this show is even about anymore or what is going on. This was the ep. before the finale? I hate Tommy's daughter but at least Janet wasn't in this one because she's been dreadful too. I just don't get what this season is even about or where it's going, and sadly I don't even care that it's over next week.

This season, like 24 season 6, has me seriously considering selling my previous season sets.

What the hell happened to this show?

I sold my Season 1 & 2 after season 3! Glad to see more people catching up.

Yeah, I seriously have no idea how this show took such a drop in quality. I still like Leary, so I get some mild entertainment from watching it, but as far as the show itself....it's just not good.

I second that. The current shows make almost no sense.

For instance, Tommy's hiding on fire runs that his crew make -- shouldn't he be out front? Why has no one asked where he is?

Or....

He's not on technically on duty when he does...whatever the hell you wanna call that. It's the next shift.

Yeah i understand they have different shifts, but when did Mike start working on the other shift?

I thought Tommy's shift consisted of: Kenny (Lieu), Garrity, Mike, Black Sean (probie), Franco, the younger chief, and of course Tommy.

Mike is now on a different shift w/o explanation. :hscratch:

I thought the same thing, but I thought I heard Lou say that he was pulling a double shit/duty/tour the episode before this one , so maybe that's what Mike is doing? I dunno....just trying to make sense of the show.

That was the worst hour of television I've watched on fx, including Dirt and Over There. Outside of some funny moments with Chief Schlong, it was awful awful AWFUL! Switches between Garrity/Franco trying to O-Face? Tommy the Superhero Firefighter? Annoying daughter not dragged into the woods and eaten by wolves? Bad, bad, bad. The whole pace and writing was completely off. Seemed like they got someone who was vaguely familiar with the series to write and produce. Bad stuff and it can't end soon enough.

I think Leary & Tolan were on PCP when they wrote that episode.

You know your narrative has taken a turn for the worse if this is what it takes to explain away the current events in the series. :)

At the beginning of the episode, one of the members of the "other" crew welcomes Mike aboard with a bottle of "next-to-top-shelf" booze.
