Best news on this is - I'm available for a rebound relationship!

Great clip though - really looks like the writing is still good. Ryan does look and sound like a douche though.

It would be interesting if they slowly start to have Ryan become something of a Michael Jr. - after getting the new job, it goes to his head, and like Michael he could be someone who was given a higher position than what they were actually suited for.

Only he would technically be worse than Michael, since he's horrible at sales and Michael is actually great in that department.

Might be but I hope that doesn't stop someone on this board's theory that by the end of the show Ryan will be running the company.

How is Ryan not suited for that position? He's finished business school so he is qualified. If anything, having worked for Michael, Dunder-Mifflin probably saw him as the candidate best qualified to be Jan's replacement BECAUSE he is the anti-Michael.

I wonder if his thesis from last season's "Business School" about the company and how it is destined to fail without changing helped him...

Watching in HD this season... can't wait.

You know, some would view that as a disqualifier. His last job was as a salesman, but he never managed to actually make a sale. On second thought, that's perfect managerial material.

While he might be a good replacement for Jan from the perspective of being able to manage Michael (because he worked for him and knows how he is, not because he's the anti-Michael), I think an argument can be made that he would have a heavily distorted sense of the organization and any other branches he would be managing due to the way Michael is.

Sadly, that is more true than we would like.

You stole my thunder. The worst managers I have encountered have all had MBAs. That's not to say all MBAs are bad, but that if they are bad managers, they tend to be MBAs.

Some people, regardless of education or intelligence, tend to think theoretically more than practically. The best companies have salespeople that out-earn their managers.

Longer version of the "What they did over the summer" clip.... includes characters not seen in the short version, and has no cheesy music added
