I'm curious - what was the audience reaction to this show?
|
Based on all the negative reaction, I'm totally going to DVR this.
|
His first song on guitar was funny...after that it wasn't that good. I missed the first part of his act, but saw the last 3/4, and it was great....a great train wreck. He really was funny throughout, but it seemed like most of it was on his feet, instead of 'an act'. He picked on a guy in the audience off and on for like 20 minutes. He's definitely a guy not to heckle, he definitely had some good come backs.

His gimmick as the "foul mouthed Full House dad" is hilarious for a small cameo (like on Entourage or Half Baked). But turning it into a 60-minute stand-up routine was a very bad idea. The show was a total train wreck. |
I bet they knew it'd be a train wreck. Everyone I've heard who's seen him has said he is pretty much the same when he does club shows....he just sorta goes off on random shit.

I'm only 10 minutes in and I'm already laughing my ass off.
|
It would help if he didn't apologize and/or say "I'm kidding" after every joke.
|
not too bad, Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy did the crude swearing comedy much better but it was alright to have on in the background whilst doing other stuff
i would actually pay for porn of Bob fucking Kimmie Gibbler, lol |
For 10 straight minutes my wife had "that look" on her face. I finally just stopped and erased it.
|
I'd seen him live about two years ago with Dave Coulier in Detroit and although it was almost the exact same bit, I thought he was a riot. I happened to see him again this summer at Opie & Anthony's traveling virus, and while again it was essentially the same bit... slightly less funny.
Watching the HBO special (actually only half), still the same bit... but it barely got a chuckle out of me. Either he was just off that night... or the shock value wears off pretty quick. Personally, I think the fact that his act might have been a little sloppy during the show distracted the laughs a bit. Hopefully that doesn't stop us from seeing more of him (& more material as well), because he seems like a genuinely funny guy. |

for those who turned off after 10 minutes, the show actually got a lot better from 15-20 mins in.
the first 10 mins were probably the worst |
I don't understand all the hate on here. I thought the act was HILARIOUS, one of the funniest stand ups i've seen in a long time. If it tells you something, I am also a big fan of Andrew Dice Clay, so this sort of shock humor appeals to me. Bottom line, this is funnier than any Dane Cook show i've seen (most overrated comic ever)

This was shock humor. This was "Hey, let's see how many curse words I can string together so everyone will be shocked that this is who I really am and not that kind guy from that family show and AFHV."
The problem was he forgot the humor. |
wow
people actually find Bob Saget funny i never understood how this guy is considred a comedian, he is lame as fuck |
