I am looking forward to this show. It has really good potential. Of course this means that there is an 85% chance that it will get cancelled right after I really get into it.

Very likely with it up against CSI, that time slot killed a couple of shows last year alone.

I love that book too.

Other than the Time Travel aspect, how is this series different than say Quantum Leap?

I've seen the pilot, and I think it's going to be a bit too confusing for the general public on a weekly basis. I didn't love the pilot, and would need to see a few more episodes to see if the premise grabs me enough to commit to watching it on a weekly basis.

Saw the pilot and this is a shameless ripoff of Quantum Leap: Time travel for the sake of doing good/setting things right/redemption/whatever. But unlike QL, this show makes no attempt to provide a rational explanation for the time travel and I assume this will be a season/series long mystery. Not sure this show will survive long enough for said mystery to be revealed.

I saw the pilot many months ago and I didn't like it at all. In Quantum Leap he knows why he's time traveling .In this show, the guy just starts shifting time for no reason in the first scene! (at least in the version I saw, maybe they changed it) I'm sure it'll be explained later, but overall the show just isn't enjoyable to watch. I did, however, like the way that he
Spoiler:
proved to his wife that he can visit the past

Just watched the pilot for free from Amazon's unbox. I wasn't too impressed. I could get past the QL rippoff premise, but the show felt very rushed and it didn't help that they couldn't come out and explain anything. I'm not talking about the time travel stuff, though that got a tease of explanation too, but things like who the girl was, the relationship with his wife and his brother, etc. Eventually the dropped enough hits to roughly piece it together, but the result wasn't really interesting enough to bother with. I guess the writers just don't like exposition.

I think this is this year's high concept show that will bomb first based on the pilot, the premise, it's timeslot and the way that network TV works these days.

I'd be willing to be that if the show last he will show up at some point.

I just watched this show from unbox and have to say it really grew on me. The first 20 minutes or so I didn't care much for it, but then it started pulling me in. I'll definitely watch a few more to see where this goes.

I'm SURE they're planning to explain his traveling. I'm not sure if it was in the version you watched, but they had a scene where
Spoiler:
he saw a second "version" of his fiance right after he left her apartment. She hinted that he was there for a reason, that she couldn't talk about it, but he shouldn't mess with things. I'm not sure where they're going with that--if she's from another dimension or what, but the writers put her in that scene for a reason, made her part of his traveling explanation, and I'm sure they plan to use this as the beginning of explaining why all this is happening to him.

Does anyone think this show is worthy enough to start individual episode discussions or will this thread be suitable enough?

Just create a thread for the series premiere and go from there. I'm looking forward to this show.

The Pilot grew on me. The first half hour was pretty confusing, but at the end of the hour, I liked it. I will set this one to Season Pass status.
