Iron Chef
Does anyone still catch this at 4am on Food Network? I miss this show a lot, it used to be on every week night at 11pm. I can't believe that Iron Chef America would get better ratings than the Japanese version....which is just a great show compared to its newer counterpart....I've found a good YouTube user who has a boatload of classic great episodes and hard to find ones as well. Any fans out there???? I doubt we'll get this on DVD unless it's a 10 best battles or dishes.

I absolutely love this show. Unfortunately, Food Network is adding more and more new shows, so I don't expect it to ever come back in a decent time slot. I love all of the IC's, but my faves would go as follows-
1. Sakai
2. Michiba
3. Chen
4. Morimoto
5. Kobe
6. The second Japanese IC(his name escapes me)
7. The first French IC(I've never seen any of his battles).
I would definitely buy an Iron Chef DVD box set.

Yea, if you check out the user archo89 on YouTube he's got one of the First French Iron Chef Istinabe's episodes....pretty cool to see along with some with Nakamura, the 2nd Iron Chef Japanese.

Haven't seen the original, but I'm a major fan of Iron Chef America, mainly because of Alton Brown. The guy is just amazing to listen to.

I like America better than the Japanese version. No crappy voice actor dubbing and the food isn't disgusting. No dishes made from duck feet or strange sea creatures. The American chairman sucks though.

I never liked how they changed the judging for IC America, in the Japanese version each judge picked a winner (unless there was a tie), while in the American version the scores are combine so if a judge gives one of the chefs really low scores it can throw off the totals.

Yea, I guess I could just tape it, but I wish it was on more than once a week, with over 300 episodes they could at least show it a little more, especially some of the special matches, World Cup, Mr. Iron Chef, etc.

Has anyone else noticed that this isn't being aired on Food Network anymore, I did a schedule search and nothing came up

In my best Professor Farnsworth voice....."GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!".....Iron Chef is coming back to TV 5 nights a week baby!!!! Starting May 5th on Fine Living Network at 11pm. I can't wait for this personally, it's been so long since I've seen these on television. Hopefully they've got the whole library to show, I'd love to DVR them and dump them to my computer.

I wonder if they are going to start from the very beginning. I never saw any of the first IC French's(Ishinabe) battles. He quit after only a handful of battles and Sakai filled his shoes rather nicely.

I do wish they'd release this on DVD sometime.
