Belzer character Munches more scenery

Richard Belzer made a little TV history when he filmed an episode of HBO's The Wire as Detective John Munch. His guest appearance on the gritty drama marks the 10th series to include the Munch character, who was created for NBC's Homicide: Life on the Street in 1993, and reunites him with David Simon, who is behind both series. Munch, the wisecracking, oft-married curmudgeon, was "transferred" to NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and has appeared on the original Law & Order and Law & Order: Trial By Jury, as well as episodes of The Simpsons, Arrested Development, The Beat, The X-Files and even Sesame Street. Belzer will be back as Munch on SVU's ninth season this fall. The Wire returns for Season 5 in early 2008.

They should've gotten Meldrick Lewis while they were at it.

Munch should just become a regular cast member (bring Ice T as well) on The Wire because he isn't getting much screen time on Law & Order: SVU anymore.

Homicide: Life on the Street was a brilliantly written & acted Crime Drama. Especially for network television & the only show to be just as good (If not better) is The Wire.

I still think Belzer & Ice T should get their own Law & Order series. Andre Braugher would definitely need to be in it as well. Screw Meloni & Hargitay's so called "Emmy worthy performances". When are Belzer & T going to get their "Emmy worthy performances" with NBC promos promoting it?

He should just have a series where each episode consists of his character being transplanted in some other show, both current and classic.

Munch isn't Munch without Baltimore. I don't even think of Munch on SUV as the real John Munch.
