Talk Tivo On My T.V.
I am new here. My question is. I purchased a tivo player from Direct TV for $99.00 it is a SAMSUNG DIRECTV DVR with TiVo and now I don't have cable or satellite. Can I still use my player on just a regular tv antenna?

I may be wrong because I've only had stand alone players but I don't think you can.
|
no you cannot.

Why not?? I purchased it from Direct TV and it belongs to me. Is it because it is affiliated with Direct TV??

Heck if you have the comcast dvr's they are completly locked out you can't even watch prerecorded stuff.

I bought it while I was having Direct TV installed,,and now I understand..I do have $100.00 brick...
Thanks 4 The Info |
DirecTivos are designed to decode only the digital stream from DirecTV. They will not be able to handle cable or OTA information. As stated above, you can watch the shows already recorded on it, but other than that, it's useless. Sell it to someone that still has DirecTV and needs an additional room setup.
