America's Next Producer - premiere 7/18/07
This show f'ing rocks, baby!
It kicks "On the Lot" in the balls, strangles it and then shoves it down a manhole.
Sharon is hilarious! Zo is a hoot! And Lindsay
This show blew my mind harder than a shot of Jack Daniels and a bottle of tequila laced with ten grams of the latest designer drug.
Shliz and Evie
This is the type of show that kicks your butt and keeps on kicking.
Bradley
This is classic reality TV at its most entertaining!
About the show:
Who will be America's Next Producer?
From the producers of Project Runway and Top Chef comes a new original reality competition – America’s Next Producer.
Ten aspiring producers get the chance to prove they have what it takes to create the next generation of TV hits.
In each episode, contestants will face innovative challenges that put their creative skills to the test.
Contestants compete each week to survive elimination rounds.
The winner will receive the ultimate TV producer prize package: $100,000 cash, a production office in Hollywood, and a first look deal with TV Guide Network.

The first episode was amusing with its similar type format to Top Chef and Project Runway, but Sharon really annoyed the hell out of me. What a self centered loudmouth! I was hoping she would get the boot, but I guess they want to keep her around for the drama. I haven't seen Carson Daly in a while, but he looks almost freakishly thin now.

I finally watched this. I really liked this show and I agree, this is everything that "On the Lot" should have been.
They really are following the Project Runway model here but it works for this type of competition. On the Lot made the mistake of trying to be American Idol which doesn't work for behind the scenes performers.
My one complaint was that they paired them in two and then at the end they had people from two different teams in last place and said stuff like "You are here because we thought your piece was bad blah blah blah". But their team member who also made the piece was not there in the bottom so that didn't seem fair. So they only seemed to base who was in the bottom by what the other teammate said. Basically, if someone trash talked their teammate they got rewarded for it by not being in the bottom 2.
