Actually I kinda wish they had a robot dog (Muffit). I just finished watching season 2 on DVD and looking forward to season 3. The story is moving at a quick pace. Would of like to see more of fighting between the cylons and humans, but what can you do

Anyone else annoyed that S3 is available on DVD in the UK, and isn't even announced yet here? Go figure.

Grrr...hate region coding. Love HD-DVD. ;)

this thread title offends me.

BSG is still IMO one of the best Sci-Fi Dramas on TV. This is the original posters opinion, but honestly I don't think it warrants creating an entire thread saying the show sucks and creating a thread title that says the show sucks.

Yep LOL!!!! Personally there are a few "filler" episodes as there are with MANY great shows, but overall BSG never gets bad.

The original was best. I tried to watch the, ahem, "reimagining", but the whole mess is some Sci-Fi executive's wet dream come horribly to life. I can imagine them sitting there, thinking "how can I make BSG better? I know, we'll make all the characters women, then we'll make them all lesbians, so we can have tons of scenes of them making out, and that means tons of gratuitious bra and panty shots!!!". I swear, even the men in that show are lesbians. Truly, one of the worst shows ever.

^ I wanna see the show Honda is talking about! It sounds even better than BSG.

Hell, I'm guilty of that in real life.

The Battlestar Galactica movie, Razor, premieres on Sci-Fi on November 24th, but fans will be able to see it 12 days early, at least in some specially-selected cities, where they will be able to attend a special screening at a theater. Beginning Friday, fans will be able to go and register at www.battlestarevent.com to be able to see the movie in the following cities:

Los Angeles, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Chicago.

The hell with you, Des Moines! Straight. To. Hell.

Admission is free, but those who want to see “Razor” at a movie theater again, you must first register at the site www.battlestarevent.com. The site will not go live until Friday. Repeat: The site will not go live until Friday. Seat registrations will be given away first-come, first-serve.

It turned to crap like 12 episodes into season 2. Everything was flowing perfectly and then bam! shit just starts to get random and the show completely loses its flow. It was like the producers decided things were moving too quickly so they decided to throw in a bunch of pointless filler episodes. I forced my way through the rest of the season 2 but completely lost interest 7 or 8 episodes into season 3.

As someone who is trying to get caught up to watch the final season as it airs, I feel your pain.

Much of the blame needs to fall on the SciFi network for this. They wanted the writers to do stand alone episodes so as to not confuse new viewers, so in essence these grind the storylines to a halt.

I'd compare it a little to Lost, in that BSG now knows when their end point is going to be, so they can plan better and not have to deal w/ stand alone episodes as much.

It never gets bad, the first half of last season was fantastastic, then there were som so-so epsiodes but it did pick up again.

I love the show.

dstrauss 10-25-07 05:20 PM

According to the LA Times, the start date of season 4 has now been pushed back to April 2008.

I just finished a marathon viewing of the entire series to date and aside from a small number of standalone eps, thought it was one of the best series of any genre I'd viewed in awhile. But having seen LOST S1 on DVD and then on TV, I can understand the frustration of fans having to wait weeks for a meaningful advancing of the storyline when watching it as broadcast.

I watched them all over a period of about 10 days so having to wait for a broadcast was not the problem.

I just finished the 3rd season between Tivoing the episodes on scifi and "obtaining" Ep 17 and 18 elsewhere, and I have to say S3 was much better than i expected from reports. I thought Unfinished Busuness was really great, one of my favorites fromt he series, but I was concerned during the 4 episode stretch from Taking a Break to Dirty hands (I thought some characters were acting very out of character in these episodes), but the last 4 eps were really good, (why scifi would skip Maelstrom and the Son Also Rises during the 2 Saturday marathon is beyond me). The last 10 minutes of Crossroads...wow...I suspected something like that would happen, but never those 5...and the All along the Watchtower was out of place, but I really enjoyed liked it. Overall i was very happy with this season, the bad episodes were still better than most anything else on TV...
