Angelyne (Peacock) - limited series - S: Emmy Rossum - premieres 5/19/22
Angelyne is streaming May 19th on Peacock.
Synopsis: ANGELYNE, Peacock’s limited series about fame, identity, survival, billboards, Corvettes, lingerie, men, women, women teasing men, men obsessed with women, West Hollywood, crystals, UFOs, and most importantly of all, the self-proclaimed Rorschach test in pink, glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe, Angelyne.

I always love that her main claim to fame is an iconic billboard image of her that everyone and their mothers in Los Angeles passed by at one point or another in their lives (I can't count the number of times I saw that billboard as a passenger in my parents/brothers/sisters car). Too funny, and I admit to being mildly interested in this partly because it stars Emmy Rossum.

I have seen her a few times here in LA. Last time I saw her was on the 405 freeway. Her Pink Corvette needed some body work...

I saw her numerous times during my college days (1984-88). She drove around Hollywood in her pink car. I also met her a couple of times. She was funny and nice.

Is there a story to be told here? Her Wikipedia page is pretty unremarkable. I can’t imagine getting even a screenplay out of that bio, let alone a Limited Series.

I saw here once maybe 10 years ago or eating with some people (probably her manager or PR person) at an IHOP. Her pink corvette was in the parking lot, so we kind of already knew she would be inside. It was also a newer model Corvette.
She buys a new Corvette whenever the old one reaches 75,000 miles and over, so she probably has a lot of models from over the years:

Looks like it will start really good and interesting, drag in the middle, pick up a little, then finally end just ok...

THAT is the mystery that is Angelyne. What is she famous for? Singing? Acting? Porn? No...she is famous for being famous. She is famous for not really having a story that explains who she is and why she should be famous. She is famous for her billboards advertising Angelyne and really nothing much else. She is famous for driving around LA in a pink corvette.
