but who's to say that the producers wouldn't just change what America wants to what "they" want? where would they draw the line?

I doubt it. Most of his lies and game play is based on the fact that he has to lie. Besides, everyone comes off as a weasel eventually.

How much can the producer's really influence the vote?

Spoiler:
If Amber changes her vote because the producers "told her too" then she is weaker than I thought she was. Besides, Eric was only on the block because outside influences messed with the game. If there hadn't been a banner then Kail or Zach would be going home tonight. Personally, I gave up on Eric last night. He finally reached my scumbag quotient when I saw Jessica cry. I've always kind of thought he was creepy, but I ended up liking him anyway. I figured out last night that the only reason I liked him was because he and Jess have fun together, and I personally think she's absolutely adorable when she's having fun. That influenced my opinion of him. All said, as much of a self righteous prick as Dustin has been in the last couple of weeks he is correct that keeping Eric is a better move for him and for "his group". I don't think Jess and Jamicka ever truly wanted to vote Eric out so as long as Amber keeps her word Eric will probably stay. Of course, this thing changes by the hour so who knows.

I guarantee you, if he stays tonight and if I believe the reason is due to producer tampering, I will be done with this show and this thread. It will be as if it never existed in my life.

What they will have done is morally wrong and just a glimpse of what is wrong with mankind in general.

Spoiler:
It's one thing for a banner plane to fly over the house, which CBS could have controlled. They could have put up netting over the outside which would have hampered seeing any writings, but still let the sunlight in. At night they could retract the netting.

But it's another thing for CBS to try to make things 'right' by unduly influencing peoples votes, thru the DR.

I think this whole show is what is wrong with mankind in Jeneral and that is why I love to watch; with or without the tampering of the producers....

And regarding Amber and her latest troubles:

Spoiler:
This is just rumor, but someone mentioned on The Fort that CBS has been talking with the Anti-Defamation League regarding Ambers comments about Jewish people, and there is a chance that she will be kicked off the show after tonights voting. CBS is at least going to address the situation on tonights show. So we shall see what happens.

I bet Amber is totally oblivious to how much uproar her comments have caused in the outside world. They were stupid comments and done out of ignorance, but I don't think she has any hatred towards Jewish people in general, other than Eric. But, I don't know what's in her heart.

Interesting, the more I read other forum's threads about this situation, the more it seems no one knows EXACTLY what happened.
Spoiler:
It seems from the forum discussion and that YouTube video that the producers pushed the Diary Room questioning in the direction of asking forcefully why on earth each of the houseguests would want to vote out Eric--because ultimately that wouldn't do them any good. But it doesn't sound like they're flat out telling them to keep Eric, they're just strongly pushing the houseguests to reconsider their strategy (which they should).

And I suppose after the producers messing up and allowing everyone to see the plane, which was what started all this, the producers owe Eric one... (Of course, they just want to keep America's Player.)

That's not to say I like it, but it does give this a little perspective.

Spoiler:
The thing is that if both Dustin and Amber vote to keep Eric then I personally think it will be because that it was what Dustin wanted. I just can't see Dustin being swayed by anything the producers might say. He's "too smart" for that. No matter what the producers might say to weak players like Amber her play will ultimately come down to Dustin's decision.

Spoiler:
Well, it's one thing for the houseguests to resort to lying, cheating, backstabbing, etc. because they don't know everything that is going on in the house. The producers on the other hand, are playing god in there with everything they do and if they have unduly influenced the voting tonight, then they have stepped over the line.

Spoiler:
Wow, dont see why she would be kicked off the show even if she is anti-semetic; she didnt make any threats, and its nothing you dont hear on any talk show on any given day. I am Jewish, and it's nothing I havent heard before and doesnt warrant her dismissal. It did change my opinion of her though, well that and her hypocritical morals and her incessant wailing....

Well, she certainly does have prejudice though. And most people would equate that with hatred.

Spoiler:
I don't believe the producers flat out told everybody that they had to vote to keep Eric, because then they would be liabel and probably be legally responsible for influencing the game. Kind of like those game shows in the 50's where the producers feed the answers to some contestants.

But I also think it is wrong for the producers to tell any of the houseguests how it might be in their best interest to keep a certain player in the game. This is like a veiled threat.

Well, everyone has prejudices, it makes us human. It's how far you take those prejudices that dictates whether you have hatred in your heart.

Yeah, I apologize to anyone here who may have read my comments and did not want to know the latest happenings. It's really getting hard to separate what just has happened and what has happened on the CBS shows.

We should have created a separate 'live feed' thread in the beginning.

Wow, what's going on right now

Spoiler:
Supposedly, people are protesting Amber outside of the CBS studios with bullhorns where this is filmed, so BB has herded everyone into the HOH room because if they didn't, they would be able to hear all the protests going on.

Spoiler:
Ah, I read they were all sequestered in the HoH room right now, but didn't know why. What a twist it would be if Amber has to leave tonight. I've also read a rumor that part of the reason Kail has been so quiet this week was because she went to BB last week, asking to leave and they "may have" made a deal with her that she would be voted out this week, which may also play into this Eric fiasco.

I can't believe all these rumors and controversies this season!

Spoiler:
I think the reason they are all sequestered in the HOH room is because CBS thinks they convinced the majority to keep Eric and they don't want something happening to change it back. This way they can't talk behind each others back. Although with Dick in there, he wouldn't mind having a shouting match inside that room.

Spoiler:
CBS needs to keep their f'ng hands off of everything here. I can understand them sequestering them so they won't hear the protestors, but if it is for any other reason, screw them!

It would be awesome if the protesters just took shifts and stayed there the rest of the summer, 24/7. Keep them all inside the rest of the game

Protesters? Are you serious?

Spoiler:
So what she does not like Jewish people. People of all sorts have bias' and prejudices. Reality shows are about getting regular people. There was the guy from the first season that didn't like white people. Did people protest him? Do people think she should really be taken off of the show for saying something real in a real life situation?
