Why does it have to have good ratings?
Just because It doesn't do well in the ratings doesn't mean it's not a good show. I'd recommend Scrubs but you don't like low rated shows or comedies so I would say...ummm....Yikes!...haaa..hmmmm.... Degrassi: The Next Generation maybe?

Actually Degrassi is not a bad suggestion. Most of my exposure to that show is because I am a Kevin Smith lover, but still was very impressed. I would agree with Arrested also. The only addition I would give you right now is that has pretty decent repeat coverage is House .

Are you looking for shows that are currently been aired (reruns mostly since new seasons aren't back til fall), or are you looking to buy or rent (Netlfix)?
I've been on a kinda "Cop" drama of late and can recommend 'Without A Trace' (first 2 seasons are available on DVD) and I actually enjoy 'Numb3ers' (a few don't care for the show) and the first 2 seasons of that are out, the 3rd one will be on DVD end of September with a 4th season starting on CBS in the fall too.
I'm goign to using my Netflix to catch up 'The Closer', 'Pretender' and 'Bones'.
