According to Jim renewed!@!
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- After mulling the fate of "According to Jim," ABC decided to bring the James Belushi sitcom back next year.
The network said Wednesday it has ordered 18 episodes to air in midseason.
ABC presented its 2007-08 schedule in May to advertisers but didn't say whether "According to Jim" would be renewed. The comedy, which also stars Courtney Thorne-Smith, averaged about 6.6 million viewers last season airing in different time slots.
The series, which debuted in 2001, drew about 10 million weekly viewers in its first season.
While "According to Jim" fits the mold of a traditional family comedy, Walt Disney Co.-owned ABC will be trying out a few offbeat sitcom approaches next season -- most notably one derived from the Geico "Cavemen" commercials.

My wife really likes it. As said above, it's not exactly can't miss TV, but it is okay to have on when nothing else is on. I don't get all of the hate that shows like this get.

I thought "George Lopez" had a stronger and more hilarious show this past season than "ATJ", and I would have loved to see the former renewed.

I'm mystified who ABC re-newed this sitcom?Nothing like a good ABC comedy to make you want to bore yourself to death.
ABC had some really great comedies this year
such rib tickling sitcoms such as George Lopez, In Case of Emergency & Big Day.
NOT! Actually like skatefan20 said, If ABC was planning on re-newing one of there half-assed sitcoms who didn't they renew George Lopez instead becuase at least it was mildly funny. My advise is: If you wanna laugh...Watch NBC.

Um. I have to admit something. Um. My wife "makes" me watch this.
It's not as good ever since they turned down the AC on the set.
Who or why is what I'm mystified at...

Probably cuz ABC just dropped that sucker, while it kept airing more and more mediocre episodes of In Case of Emergency.
IMO, KoP was 2nd best new comedy of the past season (behind 30 Rock)!

ABC in talks for more "Jim"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC is considering yet another improbable renewal of "According to Jim," the critically maligned veteran sitcom starring Jim Belushi.
The network is in talks with corporate sibling ABC Studios about bringing the show back for an eighth season. "Jim" didn't make the cut when ABC announced its 2007/08 lineup last May, but received an 18-episode midseason order a month later.
While ratings on the broadcast network are down significantly from its heyday, "Jim" is a cash-making machine for ABC Studios from its run in syndication
