How much longer before Katie Couric switches to CBS This Morning?

I give it at the most 6 months.

CBS is more depressed about the money they gave that no-talent than the SF Giants are when they gave Barry Zito 130 Mil.

That's actually a really great analogy. And I agree completely. Sorry Katie, but your a morning soccer mom preparing brekfast journalist. But I agree that she has a greater chance of not getting the axe in the am hrs.

I'm sure she has a guaranteed contract ... thats why they'll never fire her ... just reassign her.

I don't mind her at all, just the fact that they've made the evening news look so soft and fuzzy for her. I like the cold, serious lighting that other anchors have used. It just doesn't come across as news - more like a tabloid show.

They should turn the reigns over to a N.I.L.F. (News I'd Like to $#@&!).

They should have stuck with Bob Schieffer - better news anchor, looks and sounds honest, and most importantly, far far cheaper.

Schieffer didn't want to stay on long term. they should have given it to John Roberts before he took off for CNN. Maybe Russ Mitchell will get it. If they switch anchors and stop dumming it down, I'll go back to CBS from NBC (I switched to NBC after Katie's first night)

I bet she would rather be fired (like a man) than be reassigned to a morning show.

When It comes to news, CBS is a boring.

In the morning (Or night to me since I work nights 11pm-7am) I tune into the local CityTV show, Breakfast Television which is just a funny & unique show to watch compared to the CBS morning show & NBC would be the 2nd morning show overall followed by CNN HP's Robin & Company which is decent.

For news in the evening its NBC with Brian Williams and one thing about NBC, they actually have some color in the backgrounds of there morning/news/late night talk show sets unlike CBS's shows that use bland, boring colors.

If she has anymore cosmetic surgery, she'll look like Nicholson as the Joker in "Batman".

Who the fuck still gets their news from the television? Broadcast news is going to go out like powdered wigs during this century.

I think they'd try teaming her up with co-anchor first, then gradually push her towards something else.

My guess is special correspondent, maybe a 60 Minutes gig and perhaps a host of one of the prime time shows.

I would think at some point all the negative publicity would cause an increase in ratings. I've never seen a broadcast with Katie Couric, but even I'm interested in watching it one time just to see if it's as bad as everyone claims.

What exactly is bad about it anyway? News is news. Always bland, always depressing...why people care so much about the person who is telling you all those stories of death, health and stocks every night at 6:30 is beyond my comprehension.

Sometimes I cycle through the different channels, and they all seem the same to me, with minor differences in the order the stories are given.

From the Daily Pulse:

This week, former CBS newsman Dan Rather blasted the broadcast he anchored for 24 years. "The mistake was to try to bring the 'Today' show ethos to the 'Evening News,' and to dumb it down, tart it up in hopes of attracting a younger audience," Rather said. His remarks were strongly criticized by CBS chief Leslie Moonves, who defended the broadcast's direction with new anchor Katie Couric.
