Ugh, I really cannot believe CSI has that many viewers.

Yeah, but at least it beat Grey’s Anatomy in the ratings. Actually CSI is the best show in that timeslot, in my opinion. The Office is the only NBC comedy that I don’t watch. Can’t wait ti’ll those 1 hour, The Office, episode finish so Scrubs-7th & final season can start.

ER is in trouble. I know the show is a shell of what it once was but I hope it doesn’t get cancelled. I’m glad Without a Trace’s return to Thursday’s, didn’t lose the show any ratings & CBS made a smart move returning WAT, back to its original timeslot.

Very happy that Las Vegas had a solid season premiere and those numbers are pretty close to what they were getting last season. The only drawback is that it finished 4th in the 18-49 demo.

I'm surprised that Moonlight did pretty well. Now I gotta cross my fingers for Friday Night Lights premiere next week and hope that overtakes 20/20 at least... -pray-

As for FOX re-running K-Ville and those numbers...... rotfl rotfl rotfl

GradVT06 09-29-07 08:45 PM

I'm a big Numb3rs fan, I would liked to have seen better numbers for the season premiere.

mgoblue7 09-29-07 11:36 PM

Yeah, me too, but it was one in total numbers and second in "the coveted demo." Friday is just not a night for huge numb3rs.

I'm hoping FNL gets some help from LV too, but they have like totally different viewers. Shit they should've just put FNL after Heroes or maybe after football on Sunday.

nateman 09-30-07 08:11 AM

Very pleased that Las Vegas took the #1 spot in both its first & second hour, I’m glad it was the #2 show overall for the night (would’ve liked it #1). It didn’t do too hot in the 18-49 demographic but still, at least it’s not losing in it’s timeslot to CBS’s ‘Over 80’ programming.

I’m sure ‘word of mouth’ that Tom Selleck was joining the cast of Las Vegas boasted up the ratings just a tad. It was a very solid fifth season premiere for Las Vegas & although I’m sad Caan has left (he’s still open to guest appearances), I think Selleck is a great edition (Magnum P.I. rocks!) too the cast & his character, Mr. Cooper, although different from Caan’s, Big Ed character, looks like it’s going to be entertaining.

 on those #’s for the repeat of K-Ville that aired on FOX. Usually the CW is in last place, in every timeslot. Not this time though.

critterdvd 09-30-07 03:29 PM

Glad to see good numbers with "moonlight"

Deftones 09-30-07 03:55 PM

Those aren't good numbers for a show on CBS.

riley_dude 09-30-07 04:18 PM

My question for Thursdays ratings are, who is still watching Survivor? It's not good anymore and hasn't been for years?

Glad Greys Anatomy lost viewers and CSI won the timeslot. From what I hear Greys got pretty bad last season. Hopefully the honeymoon is over.

For a Friday night they seem pretty good, especially since the show came in second with total viewers (in its timeslot) as well as # 1 in a 18-49 demo for the night...

Deftones 09-30-07 05:50 PM

Anything under 10 million is pretty much eligible to be canceled at any point.

Yet somehow LAS VEGAS pulled in 9.xx million viewers this week and that was the highest they've seen in a LONG time and they are in their fifth season? Look at GHOST WHISPERER and LAW AND ORDER... <10 million is not the kiss of death for a friday show... <7 maybe, but if MOONLIGHT can keep above 8 I think it's safe. Then again this is all IMO

Deftones 09-30-07 09:36 PM

You are missing my point. On CBS anything under 10 million viewers is considered on the bubble to be cancelled. It happened to Jericho and quite a few other shows last year.

Maybe, but Numb3rs seems to average around 9m viewers and I've never heard of it ever being on the brink of cancellation. I think any other night, the 10m viewers floor is true but on Fridays, I think they're a little more lenient (as long as the budgets are kept in check).

None of those shows were on Friday night. None of the shows from Friday night last year averaged over 10M viewers per week. If CBS is looking for 10M+ per week from Moonlight, they are setting themselves up for a huge disappointment.

Exactly, "Jericho" was on Wednesday @ 8pm, a much more ratings-friendly timeslot. Friday's at 9 on the otherhand is kinda the no-man's land... Not a lot of people watch TV on friday's anymore (or have they ever?).

Ok. I'll have to dig out the list of shows CBS has cancelled that were under 10 million viewers, regardless of night. There have been several on Friday nights, btw.

As long as there is Sunday Night NFL, Cold Case and Shark's ratings will be off. When Lipstick Jungle premieres in January, I really can't see it beating Brothers and Sisters and Shark at 10pm.

Also, 0.75M watched the repeat of Gossip Girl! Since the CW has nothing better to show, I guess it's better than nothing.

It did in my case...never watched LAS VEGAS prior to Friday. Tuned in specifically to watch Selleck. I'll be back next Friday...I like his character.

I remember them cancelling Joan of Arcadia, which was #2 in its slot, and was #1 in its slot the previous year (and was Emmy nominated to boot). It was a CBS show and on Fridays.
