Idol is certainly losing some steam.

"Hell's Kitchen" got pretty strong numbers. I know the "American Idol" lead-in helped, but FOX made a smart move by not putting in on during the summer.

Very happy about the return of Criminal Minds and CSI:NY. The numbers are good, but not up to the level of pre-strike. I think alot of shows are going to take some time to regain their momentum. Criminal Minds I recall was up to almost 15-16M viewers before the strike.

Yeah, CM was around that level, but remember, it wasn't going against American Idol at that time... (or was it?) So considering the competition, it's a decent number.

CSI: NY is about at the same levels pre-strike as it averaged between 12-13m (it might've gotten up to 14m).

Those are really low #'s for CSI considering that it didn't go up against Grey's Anatomy. It should be very interesting to see if viewers come back in the same #'s, pre-strike.

20M viewers for CSI is still excellent numbers. The last pre-strike episode was around the same mark.

Well, I wouldn't say "really" low numbers, but they're off about 1.5m from last year. I think even when Grey's Anatomy returns, CSI will get between 18-20m viewers which was about what it was getting pre-strike, IIRC.

Well, what I was saying is that both CSI and Grey's were getting around 20M viewers a week. This week CSI went up against a Lost repeat, which had less than 5M viewers, so that is why I believe that CSI is down quite a bit. I would have thought that they would have had at least 25M viewers, like they have in the past.

Maybe, but other shows are still off in numbers (due to the strike) and I just think the days of CSI getting 25m viewers are over. It peaked a couple of years ago and now has leveled off at around 20m, no matter what the competition is. With reruns on USA Network of Law & Order: SVU and Criminal Intent netting 3-4m per showing, ya got to think other original programming would get better numbers as well.

It's a different world than it was even 3 or 4 years ago.

Any word on Battlestar? Just be curious to see what kind of ratings it got in it's premiere.

Don't know. I've tried searching for Cable ratings with little luck... Maybe someone knows and can start posting those numbers.

AI got low numbers this week, I guess others like myself don't need to be depressed for 2 1/2 hours

Once "Idol" hits the 15 million or so mark; FOX will become the new NBC.

Well, if a non-charity edition of "Idol" hits 15m, FOX will really need to worry...

Wow, that is a serious setback. At the beginning of the show, Ryan Seacrest was bragging about the 30 million viewers watching the show. That's old news.

^ On that note, I've always wondered how they figure those numbers. Not just on AI, but I sometimes see on other shows something along those lines even though when the numbers come out, it's significantly less.
