Red Dwarf...

I am considering buying this complete set at the Deep Discount sale right now. So, is it worth a blind buy for under $120 for the complete series? I've heard great things about it, but have never seen an episode. This is the best deal for the set I can ever remember seeing and I don't want to miss this chance.

What do you guys who know the show think? If you have time to scan my DVD Collection from the link in my signature and see if Red Dwarf is of comparible quality to other titles in my collection, that would be really helpful. If you don't have the time for that, are there any shows that you would compare it to quality-wise.

Thanks

When it cam to this series I was in a blind buy situation like yourself. I had seen a few bits and pieces over the years, but not enough to know if I should go for it. I did, and I think it was well worth it. The set is very well done with a lot of nice extras. I can definitely highly recommend it.

BTW, a couple of other BBC titles I think you would enjoy based on your collection are the Blackadder-The Complete Collectors Set, Father Ted-The Holy Trilogy, Coupling-The Collection, and Men Behaving Badly-The Complete Collection.

you can probably find some clips on youtube that will give you a taste of the show.

FWIW, I'm a big fan of Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, Monty Python, and the like, and never enjoyed Red Dwarf at all.

I loved Red Dwarf. But I'm English, so I'm used to that kind of humor (or humour).
