Season 6 was probably the lightest season of the series, but I don't agree that Season's 8 & 9 were darker than the rest of the entire series.

The last two seasons were darker in tone of the stories, especially the wons with Doggett.

The ones from 1-5 I think we can attribute to the mythology that they followed. The last 2 seasons were pratically monster of the week episodes so in that regard, they were darker than the monster of the week episodes present in all the other seasons.

I think the all time champ was The Jeffersons, but the Simpsons look to be claiming the title right now.

X-files went to long. Should have ended it at 7. Although I honestly think that season 8 as a whole was more solid than season 7.

I couldn't agree more, you hit it right on the head

Different Strokes.

X-Files just ran out of momentum and ideas. Adding new agents wouldn't have helped - they just tapped out the whole premise.

Even though I haven't watched an episode, I'm getting the feeling that American Idol is going on way too long. If people start f'ing with the voting to get a joke into the final rounds, it's time to close up shop.

Also, the "singers" that come out of that show have all been serious disgraces.

UAIOE 05-29-07 04:26 AM

Even with all this excessive promotion you *STILL* don't find Kelly Clarkson to be a top notch singer?

And here I thought I was the only one.

Daughtry, Clarkson and Underwood have basically ruled their respective genres. And Underwood and Daughtry have come out the past 2 seasons.

Lets not forget you also have a Oscar winner coming out of AI as well.

UAIOE 05-30-07 12:34 AM

So what, in your opinion, makes Clarkson better than the countless other pop singers that are also sold in your local music store?

What is her lasting appeal other than "hey, thats the chick that won on American Idol!"

I give you Underwood and the one who won the Oscar (don't know her name) but what is everyone else doing besides clinging to fleeting fame?

After last night's results show debacle, I respectfully submit...On the Lot.

zooiiks 05-30-07 12:39 PM

So many to list. Some I don't think were yet mentioned:

The Real World
Dallas
Coach (9 years! Arrested Development went for less than 3! For shame!)
Who's the Boss?
Growing Pains
Night Court
That 70's Show
The Drew Carey Show
Good Times

Probably the fact that she sounds and records songs that sound like nothing any pop singer out there, and the fact that with her strange weight problem her amazing voice wouldnt have gotten her anywhere in todays music scene without AI

Finish line? It didn't even come near a finish line. It took a detour, off the track, into the stands, over the stadium, into the parking lot where it got hit by oncoming traffic trying to cross the street.

7th Heaven
ER
Archie Bunker's Place
Another vote for X-files
Jerry springer show

Coach (9 years! Arrested Development went for less than 3! For shame!)
first off AD & Coach are 2 different show completely one was taped infront of a live studio audience & the other was a one camera comedy. Coach never lasted too long i don't think, it's series finale episode wasn't a real great ending to the series but I don't think it overstayed its welcome at all. It probally would have stayed on the air for 11 seasons if it didn't move to saturdays.
I do agree that the Drew Carey show lasted a few seasons too long but the reason for that was ABC signed a contract deal with them earlier in the shows run to last 9 seasons and when the ratings fell dramatically they had no choice but to keep the show on and burn off the final seasons.
Good Times should have been cancelled after the first episode though, It's probally the only norman lear sitcom i didn't love because it really wasn't that funny even though it was a spin-off from the classic Maude with the one & only Bea Arthur!
I think alhrough i don't agree alot of people might think the greatest & most brilliant show on television, Scrubs overstayed its weclome this season (6th) I disagree but I'm surprised no one has brought that up yet.

I was actually going to post that. But I do think this season got better towards the end.

I was actually going to post that. But I do think this season got better towards the end.
The episode after Nurse Roberts died I thought was going to be extremly serious of an episode but instead they changed it completly and the episode after she died "My Words of Wisdom" i think was the episode was probally the funniest episode of the season.
And althrough not as standout as the previous 5 seasons I still thought all in all it was a solid season and there is only going to be 18 for its 7th & final so i don't think the show will 'Jump the Shark', It might if it went for 9-11 seasons though.
