They might just slot them in on Saturday nights (like Andy Barker), unless there's something in a contract clause that doesn't allow them to do so...

Sorkin's contract says they have to be aired sometime Monday-Thursday at 9 or 10.

And that's something I've never understood: Summer is always considered to be "burn-off" season. What reason is there to pull a burn-off show airing during the summer when networks shouldn't care nearly as much about ratings?

Thanks for the heads up. When setting all my DVR programs I am not used to browsing past the 10pm/9pmCentral spot on the Thursday listings.

It's been so long since they've aired this that I can't even get up the energy to be upset about the cancellation.


I'll watch these remaining six episodes (and likely enjoy them). And I'll buy the set when it comes out on DVD/HD DVD. And then I'll give them a spin every few years (like Sports Night) and lament what could have been.

But it's too bad that something like this couldn't find an audience. I'll never understand why NBC didn't try a different timeslot at least once.

Thank goodness somebody posted a thread. I totally forgot about this show when setting up shows on my new DVR, and I'd have missed it.

I think I've seen Simon's "two dates in one night" subplot on. . . . just about every sitcom that's ever been on the air.

Aside from that, I sort of liked the episode. Allison Janney and Timothy Busfield are always good together and, as usual, any scene with Steven Weber was gold. And I didn't miss Matt, Danny, or Jordan at all.

I enjoyed it and am thankful that they are showing the last six episodes. It was pretty good, nothing great but much better than the other crap on tv right now.

I enjoyed the scenes with Janney and Busfield, too bad they didn't put Whitford and her together in a scene.

If someone was smart they'd start up a show with Weber as the lead in a role similar to the ones he's got here.

WTF?

What is this? I realize the show is cancelled, but did they slice the budget to where ALL three top billed stars are all noticably absent from the episode? No Whitford, Peet or Perry? I didn't mind Peet being gone, and of course loved all Weber scenes, but that was just odd.

I do hope they air all remaining, and that a Complete Series DVD is shortly thereafter.

Janney was hilarious, especially with the WW references and the classic Busfield/Janney chemistry.

Isn't it ironic that this show, which was supposed to start airing in this timeslot of Thursdays at 10PM where it probably would've done a lot better in the beginning of the season with a proper lead in of first run shows, instead they moved it all over the place, took it off, put it back on at the end of the season and, of course, without any lead in, the numbers will suck and they'll say that there is no audience no matter where we put it even on Thursdays at 10PM. Suck it NBC.

It was on Monday at 10 pm for a good majority of the run and it aired after their highest rated/most watch series of the season (Heroes). Which was, by and large, the best lead-in they could give it (not the most appropriate necessarily.)

The most appropriately titled episode, ever. I’ve been something of an S60 apologist since its debut… but WTF was that?

Why in the name of Nielsen would you come back from a months-long hiatus with such a mess of an episode? With none of your marquee actors appearing?

If the purpose of tonight’s show was to justify its cancellation to viewers, mission accomplished NBC.

Good episode, but it was a little lacking without the 3 main characters, and they never really explained why none were in the studio - especially considering that Matt is always freaking out in his office even during the broadcast.

Interesting take though. Finally we get to see more of the show (in fact more than we've EVER seen in previous episodes). I guess with the premise being that the actual skit writing would be flubbed out without cue cards, they could get away with showing more. Pretty funny IMHO.

Janney's monologue was priceless.

I missed the first 20 mins and the last 20 mins, but I'll watch it on NBC or get the season from iTunes (or wait for the inevitable DVD set).

Lines of the night: "Are you operating any electrical devices in the building?" & "This German Shepherd only speaks German."

I enjoyed this episode. This is what the show should have focused on the whole time - the show moreso than the relationships.

As for why this episode was the return-from-hiatus episode, they're just going in order. This was the episode that was scheduled to air the week the show got pulled for the Black Donnellys premiere.
