IMHO.....

'Midnight Snack' I enjoyed as a comedy. He did know he was supposed to be making a horror film, didn't he...?

'Profile' was nothing that we haven't seen before. If you're a black guy in a nice car, the cops will pull you over, white cops are bad, yada yada.... And again, not a horror film.

That leaves us with 4 actual horror films.

'Open House' - Couple walks into a house, wife sees a ghost, ghost says leave, couple leaves, the end. Not much horror there.

'Anklebiters' - An ugly rat, a kid bleeding all over the place. I kind of liked it.

'The Malibu Myth' - This was the best film I've seen from Kenny. It actually made sense. Nice makeup on the zombies, crazies, whatever they were supposed to be.

'Eternal Waters' - Probably my favorite of the night. He managed to actually get a real story in there. Jason is probably one of my favorites right now. I'm still laughing at 'Getta Rhoom' which I think was one of the best films of the entire show.

Mateen's short was tailor-made to be shot from the driver's POV for its entirety. I saw it as Mateen's personal horror story, something that frightens him in everyday life, but he over-reached at the very end.

Shira-Lee's was not interesting at all, simply boring and a poor attempt at the genre.

Kenny's was decent, but does anyone really believe those woods were a good hot spot for internet access?

Sam's was a tale of 2 tales tonally, so he missed on the whole, but the parts were good.

Andrew's was a bit too predictable, but could have been punched up a little at the end, as in the old lady getting "poisoned" with a bite into the midnight snack after snapping at the girl, and the rest of the ghoulies cackling inside the house in the end.

Jason's was probably the strongest of the entries, although the horror was undercut by the supernatural element of the son finding a way to look after his mom via his control over water.

These people simply aren't very talented.

Kenny's the only one who made anything resembling actual horror. His zombies/crazies were actually well done. Jason came close but his visual style is irritatingly inept.

Would it kill them to get a guest judge who isn't a total hack? (Young mothers are not allowed to have hot bodies - who knew.)

Mateen is too good to do silly horror, you see. He is far too important for that. (His last pullback shot of the Earth was HILARIOUS.)

They could do something similar to what Project Greenlight did... give everyone a barebones script that contains simple ambiguous dialogue and few actions (but has no context, setting, genre, etc.) and let them all interpret it their own way.

I think it's more the case that they are unfamiliar with the genre. I find it unlikely that most have them have seen very many horror films, let alone made one.

I did not understand Mateen's short. Did the black cop stop the driver? And what is the last shot of the earth?

I didn't like the ending to Zach's film, it left me with an 'eh' feeling.

Hilary's film was okay, could have had 1-2 more laughs, and a less obtrusive framing (to indicate an old western look).

Will's film went on too long, and ended with the paper-scissors-rock ending from the Bud Light commercial.

Shalini's film was eye-rolling at best, but had a good visual look to it.

Andrew's film was good in execution, though the production values seemed more skimpy than the other films.

I actually liked Hilary's framing. Thought Zach's was silly, but I have liked his other ones.

Yeah, I didn't get the point to Zach's film. It seemed to be missing something tying it all in together.

I liked the Mini-earth one the best (don't remember the guy's name.)

I would have enjoyed Hilary's more had I not been spoiled by seeing the donkey-ears in the pre-segment.

Almost all the films are spoiled considerably by the intro segments. Show us the movie FIRST, then give the making of. I'd be a lot more impressed with some of these if there was any element of surprise.

This week, the top vote getter got Jerry O'Connell to appear in one of his films.

The second place vote getter got Jerry O'Connell to appear in two of his films.

Best special effect was the squish-together bra for Adriana's back-less dress. Yowza!

No kidding! All five films were pretty forgettable, but I can still clearly picture Adriana's boobs.

I think the shorts are actually getting better. Obviously nothing monumental, I understand there's only so much you can do in two minutes... but I've enjoyed the majority of the most recent batch. Looking forward to seeing who wins.

Jason wasted having Jerry O'Connell with a garbage script. I was surprised Andrew got the boot since he was probably IMO one of the more consistent directors.

An elimination shocker! Zach went home, and we were left with Will, Sam, Jason, and Adam.

Sam - just didn't hit the right balance in tone between "Saw" and "9-to-5".

Will - the sucking up to the boss in drag was cute.

Jason - didn't do much for me, bad pay-off to a revenge-gone-awry tale.

Adam - conceptually the best one, the execution sagged in the middle, script-wise.

Adam's was great. I had no idea what he was going for until the reveal at the end.

Zach was an idiot. When your film drops you to the bottom one week, why follow it up with a sequel the next week? I have a feeling that he was in love with the idea, and felt that if he kept foisting it on us maybe we'd love it too.

I thought Will's film was the best last night. Jason's was pretty good, Sam's was terrible as usual - he has got to go. I think Adam's film is clever once you know the ending, but I didn't enjoy it as I was watching it, and even rewatching it, it is CLEVER and well made, but I don't LIKE it...I was surprised the judges jizzed all over themselves because of it.

I wasn't surprised to see Zach go, but I was sad. He started off with a lot of potential and he just lost his way big time. He needs a better writer to help him out...and yeah, making a sequel to a movie everyone hated is just crazy.

I think Will or Jason is going to win this, because Adam and Sam will cancel each other out.

It looks like it could be from a Volkswagen commercial w/ Peter Stormare. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66LS27mW_Fs

Does anyone else feel that Adriana Costa was just one small wrong move away from a career in porn?

Wrong only in that she didn't take that career move. I could tolerate her in porn.
