Now that I've given up on Grey's Anatomy, it looks like Lost is the only show I'll be watching on ABC in the coming year. And with THAT slated to end its run, I may be ABC free for YEARS.

I'll try Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone. If I have time, I may give that Vartan show Big Shots a chance.

This is an addtion to already watching Boston Legal, Grey's, Housewives, Brothers and Sisters and Ugly Betty. I'm not counting Lost yet until 2008.

I'll probably give Women's Murder Club a shot. Hollywood hasn't done justice to Patterson's work as far as films go, but we'll see what TVland can do.

Kiss the Girls was decent, IMHO.

Pushing Daisies sounds like it has potential. I'm intrigued based on the description.

Looking forward to Cavemen, I hope it's decent.
Caveman 3 is still the funniest commercial I have ever seen.

I believe they will not start until February. Sixteen non-stop episodes could then span both sweeps windows in February and May.

Kiss the Girls made a decent solo film, but was a poor adaptation for what could have been a great franchise. I love Morgan Freeman, but he was horribly miscast as Alex Cross. That is a franchise that is in desperate need of a reboot, there is so much potential for it.

With the amount of Cross novels Patterson has put out, they could turn that into a series as well. Each novel could be a 10 episode season, done gritty, maybe on HBO/Showtime type thing. I just don't want them to abandon it all together.

And I will so miss "What About Brian".

I thought the same thing. This is pretty limited premise in my mind. I wonder if they'll be able to pull it off.

THE FUTON'S UPFRONT NOTES: ABC
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- A round-up of the various developments from ABC's upfront presentation that may have gotten lost in the shuffle:

-- Mondays and Tuesdays at midseason. While not detailed on the network's press release, the Alphabet confirmed that once "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Bachelor" conclude next season its schedule on said nights will be as follows:

Mondays
8:00/7:00c - "Wife Swap"
9:00/8:00c - "Sam I Am" (Moves from 9:30/8:30c)
9:30/8:30c - "Notes from the Underbelly"
10:00/9:00c - "October Road"

Tuesdays
8:00/7:00c - "Cavemen"
8:30/7:30c - "Carpoolers"
9:00/9:00c - "Cashmere Mafia"
10:00/9:00c - "Boston Legal"

-- With the cancellation of "According to Jim" and "The George Lopez Show," "Boston Legal," "Desperate Housewives," "Lost" and "Grey's Anatomy" have become the longest running scripted series on ABC's schedule. All four launched during the 2004-2005 season. 11 other series also did not make the cut for 2007-2008: comedies "Big Day," "Help Me Help You," "In Case of Emergency" and "The Knights of Prosperity"; dramas "Day Break," "The Nine," "Six Degrees" and "What About Brian"; and alternative entries "Extreme Makeover," "The Great American Dream Vote" and "Show Me the Money." Said number is down from last year at this time when 15 series got the axe.

-- "Primetime" will return at some point next season. ABC Entertainment topper Steve McPherson mentioned during this morning's conference call to the press he expects the veteran newsmagazine to turn up next season in the same fashion it did this year - as a utility player. To date this season, 20 episodes of "Primetime" have aired, down from the 33 that ran at the same point last season.

-- Including "National Bingo Night" and "Traveler," ABC expects to air at least nine original series this summer. Clips were shown from "Just for Laughs," "The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?," "Shaq's Big Challenge," "American Inventor" and "Fat March" (previously known as "Too Big to Walk?"). They join the previously announced "The Ex-Wives Club" and "Fast Cars & Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race." No mention was made of "Greg Behrendt's Wake-Up Call," "Masters of Science Fiction," "NASCAR in Primetime" or "Set for Life."

ABC wins again and continues its streak of being the network with the least Quality shows.

All 3 of there new comedies look awful. Althrough I thought that George Lopez & According to Jim were about as funny as this seasons SNL I would rather still see them on the schedule then these new looking piece of unfunny ABC shows.

I'm glad that god awful Big Day didn't get renewed along with the other poor excuse for a comedy, In case of Emergency. What about Brian? should have been cancelled on day 1 and Six degrees is deserving of a cancel as well.
Day Break was half assed which is pretty good for ABC show.

Grey's Anatomy is still the worst show on TV along with Ugly Betty who wins this year in my most annoying show on TV.

Here's what I'll be watching next primetime season on ABC:

Men In Trees & Lost.

-Great Job ABC at continued least Quality TV.

The majority of adults in your country seem to think otherwise. ABC are currently tied with Fox for first place in May 2007 Sweeps for the A18-49 demo after about three weeks of it, and are the only network to show a year-over-year increase (by about 6-7%). Combined, all networks are down roughly 15% in viewership, so ABC must be putting some quality stuff out there to overcome that -15% average and add another 6-7% on top of that.

EDIT: Just noticed you're from Canada, so make that the majority of adults in America.

I don't think it should need to be said, but ratings do not equal quality. Of course quality is subjective, but for this board, I don't see them as the most popular.

First, Quake, Eli Stone is a mid-season replacement, with the buzz being that it may replace Boston Legal for a spell so Boston Legal doesn't have to repeat as much next year.

As to their schedule, I think ABC has a chance to have the most breakout hits next year. Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice, Pushing Daisies, and Big Shots can all be huge, huge hits I think. Great casts, great showrunners, and interesting plots. And unlike a lot of people, I actually liked the Private Practice spinoff episode. It'll be more mature and less annoying then Grey's Anatomy, and I think that could be a good thing actually. People that have seen the Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money pilots rave about them, and Big Shots, with its cast, and timeslot, could be a sleeper hit too.

Thats very well said.
Just to name a few high Quality shows-Scrubs, 30 Rock & My name is Earl are all very high Quality shows but Scrubs esp. does really poor in the ratings.
To me If i like the show I'll watch it. I like a fair share of popular shows this year and alot of them are he #1 show in their respective timeslot but a show like Grey's anatomy may be the #1 show of night cause its the most watched but to me there is not one bit of Quality in the show.

I didn't see this reported so here you go:

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=7390

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- "According to Jim," ABC's current longest running scripted series, may very well live on.

Both the L.A. Times and The Hollywood Reporter have indicated talks are underway to bring back the veteran comedy despite its absence from the network's 2007-2008 lineup.

Longtime readers may recall similar scenarios with CBS' "Yes, Dear" back in 2004 (read the original upfront release) and "Becker" in 2003 (read the original upfront release). Neither series was present on the Eye's schedule at that year's upfront only to later earn reprieves.

Earlier this week, NBC confirmed the future of "The Apprentice" likewise wouldn't be decided until after the upfronts - June 1 to be exact. The date was mentioned in The New York Daily News' report yesterday about the news, which goes on to say executive producer Donald Trump and company will begin shopping the series elsewhere on said date.
so they cancel it and now they want it back.

If they can do a show on those Geico cavemen, then the Aflac duck deserves his own show too.

thats what I was thinking too. They should have Caveman on for 1 season and then in the 2nd season finale make it a spin-off show called Duck. Hell this would be way more popular than the Golden Girls spin-off, The Empty nest (awful show by the way, Empty neat not GG's).
